Snake in a hole

with lunch. Had some post holes dug yesterday for a new corral. Went out to take a look at them and there was this little snake near by. In its attempt to get away it fell in one of the post holes. Lucky snake, it fell in the one hole that had a two corse meal.

Ray are you going to get those three critters out of that hole, or are you going to wait untill there is just one critter left and save some work.

I hope the little snake has his lunch first before I remove him. He's lucky there just his size.

Talk about anxiety attack . I'll bet those mice didn't sleep a wink last night The only way out of that predicament is to make like a mole ! Start diggin ......quick

The mice are history. I made a loop in a piece of wire and was able to get the little snake out. The corral is built and ready for cattle departure. The snake had no interest in the mice and missed his oppertunity for a two corse meal.

Looks like a Garter snake, they don't usually eat Mice unless absolutely starving or trained to do so from birth. They eat frogs, fish, bugs, etc. He probably would have starved to death before eating the mice.
