Snake in the house...

Yep, Mr. Eastern Brown please meet Mr. Mossberg 590. I'd probably be putting a new hardwood floor in the kitchen after that encounter, :D The girl bagging him was cool as a cucumber, I don't think I would have done so well!

Andy when I clicked on this thread, thought I'd be seeing your latest snakeskin-micarta ASH-1 acquisition.

I would be one of the people who runs out of the house screaming like a little girl. ;)

I have had snakes in the yard... never the house.... years ago we were going to one of the huts we use up in the bush, I was arriving Saturday but a mate arrived Friday evening, warmer weather... he opened the door and saw a black snake slither across the length of the front room and down through a hole in the floor... the mate slept in his truck that night and insisted we fix the floor holes before dark Saturday night...LOL I am actually going to that hut in a few weeks, the last few years we have been seeing mostly eastern browns (as is shown in the vid above) around the house. Makes going to a late night pee outside an exercise in survival... As I have said plenty, around the house "boom"...out bush properly we just find a way to part company with both parties unmolested.... but I do have the "tippy toe dance" (being the action normally associated with seeing a brown snake just near you leg) down pat..!!!

Well, this would give me a real reason to buy that English or Italian Bill I've been wanting for years.... :D

A snake in the house maybe a good thing if it has rodent problem, maybe more snakes the better. A big snake might even keep crooks away, free security with no monthly fees.

... I I will take the rodents over one of our bitey snakes any day of the week mate ... ;) Now if I wind up with a Carpet Python or similar that is just fine with me. Drug Dealers here are well known for storing their stash in with Taipans/Browns/Tiger Snakes at the moment.

What do you use to slot the snakes which also keeps the floor intact? Dried Rice in the 12G ? I wouldn't want to wreck the floor but I would give it enough rounds so that their were clear signs of death! Like no head at all!

I usually like snakes but that rearing back business holy moly .

... No7 Trap Loads are my favourite snake rounds, but any thing shy of 1oz slugs will do.... Peter, SCREW THE FLOORBOARDS.. ;) ;)
