My Friend Wolf ( Gary Rua) called me and said that he pickup a drain cleaning snake. This sucker has 3/4" OD X 9/16" ID. Now I was thinking ( I know scary) putting in the ID 1/8" rods of O1, 1018 and etc. with some of them wrapped in nickel. What do you guys think???? :confused: :confused:
I would run a bead on the sides to hold it together when pressing it out. :confused:
 
IG, if anyone can make it work good and make it look good, you certainly can! That snake is pretty decent steel, isn't it? The ones I have seen seem to be pretty hard stuff. With carbon migration, I bet you will have another winner on your hands. You gonna do the cannister damascus with it, huh? Pictures when ya do! Pictures when ya do! You could call them snake knives. COOL~the steel might actually come out with a snake pattern, or a really neat twist.
 
IG, At first I'm thinking it would work but the coils of the snake would be overwhelming but why don't you give it a try. Maybe try some cable in a piece of it to. What ever you do leave the hair on it....
