Here is a couple I am sending out soon. I got a few pictures before they go. I really like this snakewood. The guy who ordered the mammoth wanted a sheath, so I had Larry Parsons make it. The snake wood is 3 3/4 and the ivory is 4 1/4 .

Thanks,
Bret Dowell

They don't get any better than that, someone is going to be grinning from ear to ear. Great job Bret,
Congratulations,
Jim

Lookin' good, Bret. Nice work.

Two great looking slipjoints Bret
I'm liking these sizes & that Parsons rig is icing for that mammoth trapper

I like that Snakewood! How hard is it? Did it feel like you got a good clasp with your pins in the wood? It looks great!

This is probably the first time I've posted in this sub-forum in almost four years, but that trapper in snakewood is darn classy/sexy/cool!:thumbup:...Too beautiful to just look and walk away without posting something. :) Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta get a paper towel to clean the drool outta my keyboard... :D

...But first, one more look! ;)

I'd say its pretty hard wood Brent. I think it compares to iron wood. You definitely need sharp belts to work it.

I really like the snakewood scales. Is it true that snakewood is more prone to cracking than other woods?

Well, to answer your question, I went out to my garage and looked at the slab I purchased in April in Pasadena, and I have to say that some cracks have appeared. I will have to work around the cracks, should be able to get a pair of scales out of it still.
