Okay, I am contemplating picking up a snakewood Seb on another forum. NO worries about the seller. I did ask someone with a knowledge of woods, about the durability of snakewood on a knife that will serve for dress carry. His response was that snakewood was not the best choice for inlays on a dress knife. Said that it might crack, after sitting in a safe/drawer etc, and then taken out for light use. Anyway, I just want to get your opinions here. I prefer the look of desert ironwood, but I like the looks of the snakewood too. This will be a dress carry knife (too hard for me to carry a micarta Seb as EDC, I don't think I'm ready to carry a wood inlay Seb for EDC :D). Mainly for nice occassions. It will get used on those occassions, but not for anything heavy duty. Pure gentleman knife for this non gentleman.

So, for light use, and long storage, do you think snakewood would hold up. I would like to hear from CRK if possible.

If it cracks, CRK will replace it. I doubt that you'll have any trouble with the Snakewood inlays. Get what you like and use it.:D

The inlays are as strong if not stronger than the handle material. I have droped mine on all sorts of things ( so the inlay took most of the hit ) and its not scratched or damaged but the handle will pick up a mark. Their only weakness is if you were to hit it with a pointy object they can chip out. Like taking a knife blade across one or somthing. I have experience with doing this so I would know. I have always carried them in a belt sheath so I dont know about keys and such in your pocket.
