Hello gentleman.

I have a Spyderco Snap It serrated in Aus-8 that I may have purchased 20 years ago. I don't use it much, it hangs on my trout fishing vest. (Man I need to go trout fishing more!) However...

When I bought it as a naive young man, I had no opinion on blade grinds. Now, I'm comfortable saying I prefer a flat grind over full serrations. Before I do anything drastic, I was hoping to tap into your experience. Would it be a bad idea to take a file and file down the blade to a smooth grind? Or should I just leave it alone? I really don't have any plans to sell the knife. I've had it for so long, I would like to keep it but modify it to something I would use more often.

This is a google pic of the knife in question -IMG_0259.PNG

What say you??

bad idea. use it as is or sell it and buy a plain edge new knife that will work for ya.

Don't alter what it is.
I am searching vintage knives, and anything past the choil is out of my target group.

Sell it or gift it but do not change the blade. \
There is a reason you posted this...

They made Snap-its at one time with the clip on the rear of the knife. To me, that is more practical.
Yeah, seems like unless the snap rotates out of the way, it would interfere with cutting.

That C30 looks pretty cool! I would guess that removing the serrations would leave you a weird looking blade though.
