Snap-On box end wrench holders

Does anybody know where I can get these? I use to work in a bike shop in the late 70's and early 80's, and one of the mechs had these in his cabinet drawers to keep his wrenches nice and orderly. They kind of looked like a hacksaw blade with really BIG teeth, and you mounted 2 of them, about 3" apart in the draws of your chest, teeth up. This held your box end wrenches in a nice row, in order, and easy to pick from. Anyway, I have been trying to locate so that I could put a couple in a shallow dresser drawer to keep my folders in an orderly manner. Check Snap-On wed site, found nothing. Checked with Sears, and an old timer at the store said he hasn't seen those for years. The rest of the tool shops don't have a clue to what I am talking about.

Try the Sears tool catalog. I'm almost sure they have them. I have seen them. They attached to the drawer with double backed tape type adhesive. Good luck with your search.

cobb,
Please disregard my first ignorant reply. I was thinking that you didn't have any knife content, then I re-read & noticed that you mention organizing your folders.

You actually have a good idea there.

Hey cobb- There is a guy who on the forums who always advertises trades of Snap On tools for knives, maybe he has some experience with Snap On.
He advertised in the "For Sale/Trade" just today, his username is "redratsnake".
Check it out, maybe he can help you.

Donald.

Thank-you Raptor, I was going to move this to the For Sale: Everything except knives forum.

It is still a pretty borderline topic, but if you have found a great way to store knives, I hope someone can point you in the right direction.

No problem Raptor. I know that I am new on this forum, therefore at the bottom of the food chain. So I was just going to keep your post, back in the dark reaches of my grey matter for later reference. But now, I guess that won't be necessary.

Thanks for the suggestion R.D.Hatch. I will just have to dig up a Craftsman tool catalog and take a look see. They may be something they still carry, but was a slow mover in the store so they made them a catalog order item only.

Of course, if you want real Snap-On stuff, go to your local garage/machine shop/whatever, and ask them when the Snap-On truck visits them, then be there at that time.

Cobb,
I definately know that Snap-On still carries these wrench organizers in their catalogue since I was just looking in it about three days ago. The problem is that I'm not sure how you can get one, unless you take the previous suggestion from "e_utopia", and try to meet up with the Snap-On man.

Good luck with your search.

Checked out Sears and their catalog, they don't carry them. They do carry some other type that you snap tools into, but it won't work for folding blades. Now to run down a Snap-On truck.

For anybody that is interested. Snap-On still carries these tool holders for wrenches, but you have to orderer them out of their paper copy catalog. You can mount them in a drawer and they will cradle your knives at about a 45 degree angle, neat and easy to see, and it keeps them from sliding too and fro in a draw. They are plastic, so they won't mar the finish. Draw back - they only come in red.
