Long story short, I got pissed while studying for my physics exam this morning and I pulled out my Leek and stabbed it. The tip snapped and I just got home and reground it, rounded it a bit..now it looks like I have a mini-tanto tip. Is there ANY way I can buy a Leek Blade only?

Anger and Stress management, been there done that;) What did you stab it in? I know that kershaw will replace a knife for different reasons, but I'm not sure if that would be covered. I bet that you could send it in for repair though and pay them to replace it. Don't know if it would be cost effective though, it might be cheaper to just get another one and have that one as a reminder of you exams:)
How did the test go? I am going to be going back to school and Aug. and I don't look forward to the long hours of study. But I am old enough to have finally realized, there is nothing that can replace a good education. Good luck with your knife and your studies.:D

Haha yeah..physics..what can I say..
I believe I passed atleast, which is better than most could say after the exam. Kershaw will replace the blade or just regrind it? Can they just send me a replacement part instead? (Canada, ins and outs are very complicated with a Leek)

After Monday's Calculus exam, I'm done, off to U I go, assuming I score a 92% or above on the Calc exam and make it into University

Congrats V10011011. Funny I just had one of my recurring nightmares last night...the one that you wake up all sweaty because you were up partying all night and forgot to study for the final that started 10 minutes ago and you just woke up? The scarey thing is I've been out of college for 20 years! Still being punished for my sins...

holy crap, 92% just to qualify for university?
that's tough, isn't it?
i remember having nightmares about studying for the exam because i fell asleep reading my notes and couldn't get them out of my head :p

Yeah, to make up for my other marks, bleh. It's a new course on Network Technology which combines programs so that when I grad in 4 years, I'll have both a University bachelors degree and a College diploma. The program is very high in demand right now.

Hmm...What would the price of the blade be in comparison to the body and the rest of the knife? Is the blade 50% of the price of the knife or usually less? I'm sure I would be able to buy a blade individually from Kershaw if I emailed them and tried hard enough..

Sorry to be off topic.. but.. uhh..

What's the difference between a college diploma and a University bachelors degree?

Are you talking about getting two bachelors degrees? Or, an assosiates degree and a bachelors degree?

Or are things just really different than in the US?

PS - Next time, don't stab the physics book. Shoot it. That's what we used to do after each quarter. Very satisfying. :)

Hahahaha good idea, just got a new airgun too

Well, here in Canada, if you come out with a University degree, you dont know shi+. If you come out with a College degree you dont know shi+ either. Some jobs want you to have a college degree so that you have on-job applicable experience, some jobs want you to have a university degree so that you're certified to punch numbers and calculate useless things you dont understand. Best of both worlds is to get a university degree, then going to get a college diploma.

if you shot it, and your 12 guage BROKE, you'll be posting it from a hospital bed, methinks ;)

Sorry to hear about the academic tirade that left you with a gimp Leek. Still, with the ground end on the blade, isn't it too short to catch on the safety lock?

I expect that if you send the knife in to Kershaw, they'll replace the blade - - for a price.

Funny though, I've been out of college for 25 years and I still have those nightmares about missed classes and surprise exams too.

However, you young bucks that blast those textbooks may regret that action. To this day, I still return to the old text books, especially the Physics, Calculus, and Stats books, for reference. I'm glad I didn't blast my books, and wish I hadn't sold some back to the bookstores. I know I'd be paying top dollar to replace those books at today's text prices! Yikes!

Just be glad you live in Canada. If you whipped out a knife in a US classroom these days, you'd make the front page of your local newspaper for sure, wearing steel "bracelets".

Ok, I'll email them tonight or tomorrow (after I get my new computer)

Well no one really saw the leek aside from friends I was 'studying' with. And the good news is... YAY I MADE IT! I get my double degree in Network Technology and IT in four years! woo! I will be moving from northern Toronto to Ottawa in late August

Nicely done! My email to Kershaw over the play in Boa has gone unanswered so far, requests for replacement torsion bars were answered quickly though(?)

Oh and the tip does catch the safety lock, just BARELY.. I rounded the snapped part so it looks like it has a belly there now. The safety lock catches by maybe half mm
