OK, bare with me.
I'm trying to find a source for small quantities (my own tinkering, not large scale) of items that I don't know the exact names of :)

Mainly hoping to find them in stainless steel (saltwater), but brass works as will aluminum I think.

From my research, I'm trying to find I believe Chicago Screws? for pulling leather together and what holds kydex sheaths together ... rivets??? or screw posts.
Snaps, both sides .. male and female?.. for a quick release on handles.

Trying to find things that won't corrode, a lot of saltwater. The existing items are rusting and seizing on me so need to replace them.

Also, for handle wrap, I suppose there are several ways to do it, say a tuff materiel and those twist tabs.

Hard to explain as I don't know the terminology.
I've seen suppliers of various things but the amounts needed to make a purchase are extremely large.

Basically parts and sizes that hold ESEE Molle systems together .... in stainless or appropriate metal.

Any help or incite greatly appreciated, sorry for not knowing my S#%t :(

I have found brass chicago screws in anywhere from 1/4" to 3/4" lengths always the same size just longer or shorter. I have had the best luck in mom and pop style hardware stores ,the ones with the long rack of small parts drawers they often have them in aluminum but I would suggest brass if you can find them Ace hardware is a good bet. If you ask for chicago screws and they don`t know what you are talking about call them "sex bolts" they might know what you mean then as they have a male and female ends. You could also try a horse tack store they are used for bridles and such.I hope this helps.
Oh and I have not been able to find stainless chicago screws in any store online or brick and mortar.

Much obliged thebrain,
Ace was a thought, as I used to find good SS bolts there but thought this may be a bit out of their realm.
Going to the shoreline tomorrow. I'm thinking of hitting the boating stores ... SS has to be in demand for the canvas tops, I'm guessing.
Brass will work, but weird thing, the Phillips screw is the weak point ... usually not brass .. corrosion starts and ruins things as the rot starts and the snap or Chicago Screw starts to break down.
Odd no?
Thanks much for the input.
If I find, will post for future reference.
Spyderco's H1 steel is great, but no good as the holding parts of custom sheaths rot :(

Oh, and online, am coming up zero except for 100 pk and over!
And SS slime to none, but has to be there somewhere for boating. Those blue tarps for winter are not your ordinary snap.

have you checked Olanders ? I don't know if they have the Chicago screws there, but they have a great assortment of everything. They don't make you buy a hundred a a time either.
