I need to buy more Line 24 snaps because I'm out. Am thinking of picking up some Line 20 snaps while I'm at it. I know that Line 24 snaps work with 9-10oz leather, and I can use them for 8-9oz leather also. The question is, how thick of leather are the Line 20 snaps good for?

Thanks,

Heber

Hey Richard, Thanks for that information. Looks like I'll be sticking to Line-24 snaps for now.

Heber, stick with the 24 line snaps, You can get the posts and buttons in different lengths to fit different thicknesses of leather You might have to shop around because the craft stores do not (as a rule) carry but the 1/4 or 5/16 inch lengths. Do a search under Dot fasteners and you can pull up all the info. I would suggest using the brass snaps for rust prevention. They do come in different platings such as nickle and black oxide, and different actuating strengths. ---Sandy---

Sandy, thanks for that information. Good to know I can get different post sizes. :) Will be sticking with the Line-24's. I'm planning to buy some Brass ones from Tandy with the 5/16" posts on Monday. The Tandy in SLC has a good price on them and they have Fiebings Dyes which I tried the other day and really like. Thinking I'll do most of my coloring with them from now on, unless I get the predyed leather. You are a wealth of information! Thanks!
