Why is brass wire better for snare wire?

It seems to be a matter of opinion as to what type af wire is the best. Some like it flexable, some like it strong, I read a post of someone that liked sterling silver (easy to repair?) If you go to the bottom of this page:Here There is the opinion of Doug Ritter at Equipped. Makes sense to me.
