Twice this week I thought I'd secured a new Left-Hand Large Regular Sebenza only be informed by two different dealers of website inventory errors.

The first time I'd actually completed the on-line purchase, it wasn't until the next day that I received an email informing me of the error. The dealer was apologetic and tried to make it right by offering me a deal on a Classic, but I'm only interested in the Regular. The dealer's since updated the website to prevent this from happening again.

The second time I decided not to rely on the website's inventory status and called to verify stock. At least I saved myself the added disappointment of actually placing the order. Unfortunately this dealer hasn't bothered to update their website.

I guess I should consider myself lucky as I managed to actually snag a new one a couple of weeks ago, I was just trying to get at least one more.

I sure wish Chris Reeve hadn't discontinued the plain Regular Sebenza; for those that preferred the Classic to the Regular, the 21's still a good option.

I own a couple of 21's and they're great knives, but they just don't feel as good in my hand as the Regular.

Hey Chris if you listening, how about setting aside a couple sets of large regular slabs before they head over to be milled out for inlays; I'd be willing to split the difference in price between the plain and the wood inlay version just to have a couple new plain Regular's :D

Hey Bob.TRY Only fine knibes.com they have 2 or 3 left handed reg. listed

on their website.

I was going to get a reg. at ofk but they were out of. the one I really

wanted.Be sure and have them open up the box to make sure the label on

the outside of the box matches the knife in the box....thats what happened

to me.

Post *wanted ads* on all of the forums. Most folks baby their knives and you can get a great deal on an almost or new knife.

I've been down the same path (looking for various knives). There's only one e-tailer I've found that seems to have a 100% reliable patch between physical inventory and its website. I almost always call or email directly now to confirm that something's actually in stock.

Even buying used, several times I post "I'll take it" and get a reply "it was sold on another forum [sometimes, a week or more ago], and I forgot to update that thread."

My shopping usually occurs in the evening i.e. after hours or weekends. I try to confirm when I can, but email inquires are a real hit or miss with respect to receiving responses. I actually emailed a while back on one of these knives and I never received a response, it took me actually placing the order to initiate an email response.

The Large Regular I managed to get a couple weeks ago was a case where everything just fell into place. I emailed on a Saturday morning inquiring about stocking status and to ensure it was in fact new in the box, received a reply in less than an hour and completed the purchase about 5 minutes after that.

I understand most CRK dealers are small operations and it's not economically feasible to have sophisticated point of sale inventory systems. Given the realities of the situation shopping for any Left Hand Sebenza's can be a real challenge, not to mention looking for NIB discontinued model.
