OK! Sign me up! I dont know if you want to see me in one of those french maid getups though. 180lb white kid and those dont get along to well ya know? No but seriously I like the knife, or at lease what I can see.And I just wanted to say something. I respect ya'll major makers alot. Gives me something to work towards. Sorry if i seemed like I was fawning or anything.

Looks like you got it where it needs to be Brian.

man, brian, you sure do put a hurtin on them knives. can't wait to see it finished!

i worked for a cleaning crew over the summer. i can get a bathroom cleaner'n you'd believe and windows lookin like they aren't there. i'll come be your maid if you'll let me use your shop.... :D joking aside, would you mind a semi-newb set of hands around in the shop some weekend...?

Alex

:D Holy sharpness batman.you do great work,is that a standard test? I just finished my first knife and i think i'm scared to do that to it:o Its shaving sharp now but i doubt it would be able to cut any thing after hacking a 2x4 in half.

try it joe.......you can always HT it again. I do this with all the knives I make. Pretty easy way to see if it will dull right away.

Now how to keep a shp cleaan??? thats another story! :)

That is one lesson brian taught me :D .

I use the 2x42 craftsman grinder. This one was sharpened with a 80 grit then a 220 then a leather strop...... it its really thin like on a small hunter type knife 80 grit will be too course so I use a dull 120 then strop or 22o then strop. I just strop to make sure that the burr is off.

One more sneak peak!!! :)

Tim,
I always use a torch because thats all I have. I turn the shop lights out and heat the blade evenly on both sides. Going slow I bring the bottom 1/3 up to temperature and do a full quench. I talked with Charles Saure over the phone when I started out and he sort of walked me through it. It is easy to do a poor job so testing is very important unless you want to have a finished knife that wont stay sharp.

here is the handle....... :) Just thought this picture was pretty good :)

Hey Bri, you're not supposed to turn the blank over before cutting from the other side! :D Cheater! :D And so many chops! :D Any hair left on those burly forearms? Or were you shaving your legs? Again?

Haven't bought that Evenheat yet? Happy with your super HT with the torch? Dang man, I haven't nailed O1 like that yet and I've been doing it for five years. You really are my hero. You and Raymond Richard. And Nick. And... Cripes I give up. You get the idea. Way to go bro, that's what I like to see. That's what it's all about man.

Dave - Your a nut! OF course I shave my legs....doesnt every girl :) My arms would get funny looks! I already get funny looks with crap under my nails all the time :)

Havent got the even heat yet. Plan on it in Feb now. The baby is du in 4 weeks so I am gun shy!

Also, I just KNEW I was going to have to HT this knife again. I didnt think I did it well enough but I guess this is one of those that WANTS to be made.
