You ever had one of those feelings like you forgot something? Just cant put your finger on it, but there's a nagging thought you have definitely forgotten something. Well, the 'ah haaa' moment happened when I pulled my camera out to start taking pictures at Fiddleback today. My camera's battery! DOH! oh well .. back up is always with me; cell phone. While the pictures are not as detailed & pretty as usual, I still have some to show yall.

Glue ups in progress

I was getting worried. Been checking for this post this afternoon. I think I have become a Fiddleback stalker. Thanks for the pics!!

That is a bow legged joe and not a 3-finger in the first photo correct? Any idea on the scales going on that one?

Hurts to look at that Camp knife, so nice.

Great photos per usual, thank you.

dunno what scales are on the BLJ - i didnt look. You'll have to ask Vance what's on them tomorrow. The left side of the table says natural liners/pins tho.

I believe the bow legged joe is going to be sporting an emerald green shadetree with white pinstripe. But im not 100% sure.

Batteries for the camera are one thing. Just don't forget loaded magazines for your service pistol.

Knife Caddy #1

The burl on this Hiking Buddy is really nice looking!

The "Starry Night" Shadetree burlap turned out great looking on this bolstered Hiking Buddy.

Great job on the Hamon on this one Chris!

Where are the photos of the in-process knives from Allen, Adam, Dylan, Judy, & Ken. Are the knife makers slacking, or is it the photographer? :p

Thanks for the photos Bud! Very much appreciated!

Phil

I'll check on the scales tomorrow on the bow legged Joe .. Forget
3finger joe.... I've never even seen the pattern
Ken gets them confused for some reason ;)

I dont go digging thru people's stuff so if the makers dont bring out their goods, then I dont usually get pics. Adam was out today, Allen's batch didnt seem like it changed from last week (but I did buy a knife from Allen today and it's schweet!), Dylan's knives are finished and were posted Monday in a for sale thread in his own sub-forum .. and Judy was busy with glue ups while I was there (think hands wearing rubber gloves and covered in sticky epoxy glue). I dont think Ken has anything new except for some leather I made for him and he was busy with online/inventory stuff. Andy was feeling a bit sick today so as soon as he finished his tray of handle shaping he went home.

You know that I am just ribbing you Bud. I know that when you are at the shop, you are just like a dog on a walk looking to "mark" every piece of territory you can. I appreciate all the views that you capture, especially the spine shots that help me decide on one versus another to pursue in the Friday Shark-fest.

Thanks,

Phil

Thanks for sharing Bud. Nice set of Runts, I like the one you're holding in your hand. What kind of wood is that? The crimson one looks nice too. Any 1/8" or 3/32"? :)

I didnt notice the thickness, but if you look at some of the other pics from that tray you can see it's spine. Looks to be 1/8" SFT and pretty sure it's A2 steel. The wood is a semi-dyed pink to orange coloring Box Elder Burl. It really pops once it gets to hand sanding.

Even with the device handicap great shots Bud. Much thanks as always. Is it me or have these guys/gal been really killing it lately? Some more amazement coming out of that shop..

Trying to identify model and handle mats for the top blade in each pic below

That a hiking buddy in curly maple with lime and black liners?

That a bear cub in blackwood/rosewood with white liners?
06302015_16.jpg

The first one is a Hiking Buddy, with a very nice Tapered Tang. The natural pins means natural liners and yes, it had Lime pinstripes. The wood is Box Elder Burl.

The Bear Cub .. looks like Rosewood but it's hard for me to tell those two (blackwood & rosewood) apart when the it's still getting shaped. Easier when the woods makes it to hand polishing stage.

sweet thanks, mmm man some serious blades this week all over the place, vendors too, so hard to choose.

Very cool Bud, thanks for sharing! I'm really not into blue handles but that bolstered KE Bushie is stunning!
