Blazing heat today. My temp gauge was registering 97-99 deg this afternoon. The crew are continuing to take short bursts of high intensity work on the knives and they continue to crank out some of the nicest batches of handmade goodness. The new shop is coming along - finishing work, plumbing, table/work station layouts .. it's coming together. I'm really excited to see what the crew can do with this increase in work space.

** NOTE: I will not be able to visit the shop next week. Day Job commitments take priority **

Hand Sanding (Caddy #1) & Pre-Glue up (Caddy #2) knife caddys.

Redhammer hand sanding at the 'big metal table'. Two caddys were kinda sitting side by side here, hand sanding & pre-glue ups so this first bunch of pics will be a mash of both caddys.

W. A. Surls has a new project and it bends in the middle. You're also seeing the back side of the stag handles glued up to the brass liners.

Thanks Bud!

I'm not one for dyed burl normally, but that scandi KEB is amazing.

Same here .. but it really caught my eye, which is why I took a close up. Truly impressive knife.

I'm still learning all the patterns at Fiddleback, is that a custom camp knife in the fifth picture? Looks pretty sweet whatever it is.

Any idea what thickness steel the bolstered Shadetree Camp Nessie is? Looks sweet as always!

Looks like a handmade camp
Custom is what we call the production models with fancy handles

Gah! I just bought my first and I already see a couple that I would be happy to have as my second!

Allen hasn't told you?????
That's all he thinks about 31hrs outta the day.... Or something like that

Might have mentioned something about it but no photographic evidence to it's existence.

Continued growth of an artist. Interesting to see where his work has gone in the past 14-16 months.

Still a work in progress.

It certainly has been an interesting ride that I have had the pleasure of enjoying. This is the next step I have been waiting for.

Bill evidently its your and myself that caused Allen to go off on this folder tanget.I think he bought 3 slip joints today
But if his wife reads this it was only one

Wow! The end of this sneak peak about made me fall out of my chair!

I do feel we are to blame but he did resist for over a year. I have been telling him for that long about traditional folders. I really do hope he proceeds with making a few of these because personally I would love nothing more than getting a traditional folder from him.

And of course he only bought one, the rest were gifts from me..
