Back to the 'Da Forge' today and snapped sneak peek photos of what's coming up. I have to say .. this week's visit revealed some upcoming surprises of some new models or revamp'd models. I think some of us are going to on a serious mission come Friday. If the suspense is too much for you .. scroll down to the 2 last pictures.
My trip today was to see LaAllen and pick up my WAS 'Muk in Box Elder Burl. Needless to say, he knocked it out of the park! I cant stop staring at it. Incredible workmanship.
You dont own a WAS Knife yet? Longer you wait .. the harder it's going to get.
Allen also showed me a new model he hasnt released yet - the Bison. This is the #1 Bison. I cant say enough positive feedback on this one. I want one. It's a Hunter on steroids. The crowning jewel was the handle ergonomics - it's belly, the pinky lock, palm feel .. it's all there. The overall weight of this blade leans toward to tip of knife or the last 1/3 of the knife. This model is going to make a great camp/field companion. Wonderful knife.
The WAS Knife Caddy
Now onto the sneak-peek photos from inside the shop.
Styling and Blade Profiling.
Knife caddy 1 ..
At first glance .. I thought this had my name on it. LOL Needless to say, some times they dont all turn out to be family heirlooms.
Machetes awaiting handle shaping.
New Wasp design
Old 3 Finger Karda vs the New model 3 Finger Karda
Blanks and mo' blanks
Some glue ups in desperate need of handle shaping.
The 'scales' table.
The Scandi's are coming!! The Scandi's are coming!!!
Not messing with you. I picked up one of these while Andy was handle shaping and asked him why the blade still had a Scandi grind on it. Straight from Andy, 'I'm making some Scandis for yall'. So .. if you're a Scandi grind Fiddleback fan, then here you go.
All Scandi's are the new Esquire model and 3/32" blade thickness.
