Another installment of my semi-regular visitation to Fiddleback HQ. There's 40+ pics here .. which is about half of what I take with my fancy dancy phone and while I try to capture what's a happening or some knives that might be offered this coming Friday - it's ever-changing and I manage to notice something I havent seen before.
The weather is changing here in Georgia and today was heavy thunderstorms .. it's obviously having a depressive/psychotic effect on the Crew.
Decorative belt holders / coat racks ...
This is Bamboo's FIRST knife. I was impressed. Think about it. He's a woodworker guy .. so bravo Ken, bravo.
Speaking for Fiddleback Apprentices .. Adam aka Valkyrie Knives completed a couple with WOOD handles! And, boom went the dynamite.
He made these for Family members. I say he needs to make MORE .. can I get a 'yea, come on!!'??
WAS Knives .. an entire heard of Bison's. These big bad dudes are scalding hot!
Curly Q Bison w/double wood. GYSOT!
Now onto Fiddlebacks ..
Let's start with an old skool Fiddleback Bushcrafter shop knife. Get's beat on slapped sideways .. and still keeps kicking.
So, I posted a picture a few days ago of the 'knife pattern' wall. The wall has blade patterns hanging on it.
Most of these patterns are the current models .. but some are older models. Cool to see the evolutions.
These patterns are used for tracing the blade onto the bar stock. Each pattern usually has the name and date it was conceived.
These were not in a Knife Caddy .. so .. not sure what's up with them. Yeah, knives are all over the place. It's a Fiddleback OVERLOAD!
Vance (Phillip) doing some finishing work on the handles. When I left this afternoon, Phillip could barely move his thumbs.
Blades getting their grind on.
It's a Shadetree Goldmine!! with Ken cutting up handles.
Handles getting pre-cut/shaped to their blade blanks prior Glue Up
Is that a Scandi!?!?!? In BURL handle!?!?!
From the 1st Knife Caddy .. these are still in the handle shaping process.
They're starting to take shape ..
To this ..
Knife Caddy #2 .. these are almost done. Next step, getting their maker's mark.
