My regular weekly visit to Fiddleback HQ found the crew hard at work in the shop with low 40 deg temps, doors open and a whole row of grinders a spinning! I took my nice Canon DSLR - but 2 pics in and the battery died. :( so .. rest of the shots were taken with the phone.

First, I got to see Allen present his final apprentice knife to Andy - very cool to watch. Allen shuffling his feet, chewing his nails as he watched Andy closely inspect this final knife from student to teacher. Andy study it for a few minutes and passed it to Dylan Fletcher (Fletcher Knives). More sweating, shuffling .. more minutes ticking off the clock. Dylan handed me the knife .. WOW!!! .. this thing is INSANELY good. Perfection 100%. I handed the knife back to Andy, who told Allen, 'congrats - you're released from apprenticeship'. Like I said, it was very cool to watch this impromptu ceremony.

Here's the knife - which is now added to Andy's personal collection or Georgia Knife Makers;

WAS Knives knife maker, Allen, showed me a modified Bison blank - Swedged. Told him he should sharpen that swedge! Badass!

Adam aka Valkyrie Knives has a few "K9" models upcoming. This one has Glow N Dark liners on it.

That bushboot sure is purdy.. Thanks for sharing bud!

Yall welcome.

And yes, That Emerald Shadetree Bushboot is a show stopper. Tapered Tang w/orange liners. My favorite from the day.

As gorgeous as all those FF knives are, Allen's final apprentice knife is beyond words. Congrats!

Always appreciated, thanks Bud!
Is that small version of Padre I see, the last pic.....

Andy called it "The Gentleman's Steak Knife" - the Blue one in #3 caddy Glue Ups is the same design.

Looks like a Kephart that'll get a scandi grind Dman.

Great pics, thanks for sharing. I'll be counting my pennies if some of these are up on Friday

Congratulations Allen! I don't think that any of us who have followed your progress are surprised. Your final apprenticeship knife is a real beauty.

Thanks Bud for another fine contribution to your library of sneak peeks. Big sharks will be fighting it out on Friday for a few of those.

Phil
