This is what has taken up 3 months of my life so far and its not done yet! Its a black powder .224 cal. cap and ball with a 3000 layer twist damascus folding dagger blade. The under hammer is rarely seen anymore but in the old days the great gun makers built a few at times. They were usually made quickly and were not top quality. They used alot of recycled parts much like we do today with our knives. A good gun maker could whip one out in a couple days without a blade of course. This one will get legal elephant ivory for the grips and a nice blue job.

You guys helped me get the trigger guard/hammer spring tempering specs. Thanks to Dan Gray for the 1095 for it.

Thanks for looking

Bruce, I know it's either really early or really late, depending on your frame of reference, but this kind of teasing is not nice! Let's see the picture, man!

:D

Sylvester, Thanks I just may do that. Bruce Evans has always been my brains but I thought maybe I could do it. Im readin up on the subject. For some reason I cant tell how big it is and bladeforums wont attach it. I emailed it to my Son and it came out huge.

Raymond, Thats sounds good. Are you going to the Salem show next month? Bruce Evans and I will finally get to shake hands there. Stop by my table.

No I can`t money is just to tight right now.

Bruce, I'm not real sure about going to the show, I don't care to much for the outfit thats putting it on but I still may go. I may be picking the other Bruce up at the airport so we may end up getting together one way or another.

Don't feel bad about not being able to put you pictures up. I had to rely on my son for a couple years, I've been doing it myself for about 3 months now. Old dogs do learn new tricks, it just takes a heck of alot longer.

I'm having a hardtime making out what I'm seeing with the picture, know its going to be alot better in person. Did see the knife your and Bruce did down in Eugene, that was a beaut.......Ray

Bruce, it looks great buddy. The intricacies of that piece are really sumthin. I thought the oder the gun the easier, but you are proving that theory is just that. Great work. T

Looking good Bubba, I`m glad you got it.
But I do think you need to change banner
To Bump`s HandMade Knives & Muzzleloaders;)
Love those underhammers
