SNG Gen 2 vs Gen 6

Right now there are a couple of Strider Gen 2 SNGs floating around Ebay at under $200. But the current SNG version is Gen 6. But the MARSOC SMF version is only Gen 2 (I know idfferent knife, but pretty close). WTF is the difference? And with new SNGs going for $400, are these Gen 2s a good deal (Though obviously they will go higher.)?

There are other Strider forums located elsewhere.
Not that you asked a bad question. I'm just telling because I don't know that much, and there are many more Strider enthusiasts located at these other locations. I think a lock stabalizer was added and the hole was enlarged, those probably aren't the only changes, though.
Also.... If you can pick those up under $300, you're getting a pretty good deal, provided they are in fairly new condition.

Walking man, as far as I know the Strider forum here is closed, but I welcome someone correcting me on that. But thanks for your input, though posting here about them will probably drive the price up a hundred bucks. But I am always willing to share good deals with forum members, I will wait and see;

I would ask that if you are bidding on these post your Ebay name in this string so forum members know not to bid against you.

I'm cmccgod.

Speaking of out bidding a fellow forum member, I think I have in the past. I appologize if I pissed anyone off. I'm one of those sneaky lil fucks that bid in the last few minutes too. I'v been screwed so many times that way, I feel all's fair in love, war, and ebay at this point. But I do try to avoid fellow forumers still. Then again, if you really want it, don't leave your bid so low to where you'll be out bid right away. After all, it is an auction.

You **&*^#^&*@*, you out bid me on the Busse that one time!!!

Just kidding.

I put in my bids AFTER posting the above. I didn't really want to show everyone what seems to be a good deal and then when I got interested, notcie another forum member bidding on it. But yeah, I know what you mean. I usually wait until the last hour or so, as bidding prior to that just seems to drive the price up.

imho the SnG is one of the best edc's around, i got a black G10 digicam finish gen VI a few wks back and i really like it, it may become my new edc, if it does it'll knock my emerson specwar CQC8 and my Ti spyderco ATR outta the saddle which isnt easy to do they are both very good knives, but i really like the looks and ergo's of it, and its one heavy duty knife & cuts like crazy of course, also the size seems to be almost perfect for edc, now i gotta get a SmF lol.

if ya can get ANY SnG in decent shape for less than $200 i'd sure jump on it, i havent ever seen any strider folders that cheap, maybe $300 lowest ever.

FYI the SnG and the SmF are DIFFERENT knives. SnG is the smaller of the two. SmF all things being equal WILL be more expensive.

I believe, like Walking Man pointed out, that mostly the main difference is the Hinderer lockbar stablizer in the Gen 6 SNG's. I can not remeber the other differences. I would look at other forums for better info.

the digicam finish is only on the gen VI, i was looking a few days ago and there seems to be some collector interest in the early SnG's like gen 1 & II, FWIW.

For me....... A bigger hole made the biggest difference. The lockbar really isn't necessary unless you're wearing gloves or are using the knife in extreme conditions.
