Take a look at the TAD website for pics of the SnG in various forms of completion. In one pic of the SnG and an AR side-by-side the G-10 of the SnG takes on a bluish hue--is this a color distortion or will the SnG's G-10 side handle actually have some blue?

As much as I like my AR, the SnG due to its smaller size and other features, will probably win out as my EDC. I like the design of placing the smooth Ti slab on the clip side (against the pocket material); the "sqooshy" thingy under the clip to soften up its grip is also a welcome change. (My knife pocket thanks you, Mick while my wallet pocket is crying, "Ouch!"). I don't know if there is another folder this size with a blade thickness like the SnG. We Armchair Commandos will be happy, happy, happy.

I hope I ordered soon enough to be in on the first run. According to TAD they may be getting 200 of these.

The G10 on the knife that TAD has is Black and Green layers.
It’s pretty cool.
Sometimes the part is a little black, sometimes a little green, sometimes both.
I really like the differing colors that come out of it.

Thanks for the kind words.

Mick

When I saw the pic of your SNG in another post I thought that all those little dimples in the handles were just on your custom knife. Now it appears as if this is how it will be produced. Although it is bound to give better grip, don't you think all those little holes will collect mud and dirt rather easily and be hard to clean out?

The differing colors on the G-10 side is very cool indeed. It makes each SnG kinda unique. Although I usually like black, I will be pleasantly surprised to get any of the green on my knife. Ooh, the luck of the draw. :D

I just exchanged e-mails last night with Evan at TAD and got on their waiting list.

Since I may very well be one of the plank member owners of this SnG, I think they should make one in "Poser Purple."

I have an old picture showing my eyes this shade one morning in what only can be described as a 'tequila sunrise.' It is an attractive, albeit, painful color.

If my wife reads that poser, she will want one in pink!

I don't think Mick would make it or Evan would sell pink.

a223cat, ya' know, Mick must make a lot of 'clean' implements for clandestine projects. What better camoflage could there be than a Strider in pink? Think about it. ;)

Mr. Strider and AO,

Something's been buggin me a little bit for the past few days.

It looks like the angle rake from the choil to the butt has gotten shallower between public release Variant A (Shelb's XM) and Variant B (with the grip dimples).

This isn't true -- the handles are identical, right? is it just a visual illusion?

thanks!

It's probably been asked a thousand times before so maybe I should've done a search , but DAMN am I lazy!!!!:D ;) :D Whats the thickness of the SNG's blade?

The blade is .165"

There have been no changes to the overall shape of the knife or handle.

You made it all up.

*grin*

You know... when you've been staring at these things for hours and days...

they begin to TALK to you.

you can't imagine what they say.

i think a little shape-changing is among the least of my worries.

thanks again -- and keep up the great work!

;)

I noticed there were 748 views of this thread before I posted this reply. I wonder how many from that number have already placed orders for the SnG and how many will eventually place orders? I think the Strider guys will have another winner with the SnG. :D
