OK Mick,

From the picture you posted showing the Tanto version it looks like the profile of the closed knife will be very different between the 2 blade styles. This would indicate a sheath for one blade type would not work for the other in many cases. Is this true or will they be more like the current AR & GB runs where the profiles are the same.

Okay… The GB/AR were made to fit the same sheath while OPEN.

Even though the SnG has a slightly different blade shape on Tanto and Spear point, they will still carry in the same kydex (when closed).

The kydex only grips the section of the blade that has the thumb serrations. That portion is the same.

Great question.

Mick

Joseph,

Tough room huh...

Mick,

Thanks for the quick answer. The adjustment to the AR and GB to match overall blade shape not only allowed them to fit the same Kydex sheath in the open position but also allowed form fitted leather sheaths to hold either/both while closed. The slight change in the shape of the SnG's might make this a problem for sheaths done by lifter and G2. So if I got one of each I would need a sheath made for each in order to get the best fit.

The shot of the GB on the Strider site shows a different Spine
