Snickersnee,What did you do to your Buck Titanium?Did the tip break off? If it did ,how far back?

I used it to pry open a door when I got locked out of a friend's house.

The tip broke after flexing thirty degrees. It gave ample warning, I just pushed it too hard. I lost about an inch, which was what was inserted into the door jam.

The XlTi is a good knife, it's go the best handle I've seen on any folder, custom or production.

A few tweeks to the blade and lock, toss in a lanyard hole, and it'd be about everything I want in a knife.

I shoulda kept the handle and rebuilt it with a new blade and modified lock. I'm trying to get a new one while they're still available. It's a good knife that Buck doesn't know how to promote or what to do with. Like OS2 Warp.

Hi Snickersnee, I have a friend who has 2 Bucks XlTi one black and one grey, saw hardly any use/ none at all and he's selling them for $ 50 a piece in original box, paperwork, cordura black sheath.

Snickersnee, I thought I could regrind your blade into a useable knife. An inch from the tip is a lot of metal , but i'll give it a try if you like.I don't make folders, although I've been a guild member since 1989.Let me know.

Mickey, thanks for the offer, but in a fit of stupiduty, I threw the handle and remainder of the blade away. I should have sent it to Buck to have it repaired or modified it myself.

Bagheera, thanks for the head's up, but I've reconsidered my search for a new XlTi. My new 710 will be enough to hold me for the next couple months, after which I will be selling navajas, and will begin r&d on the modified XlTi that I've been wanting. Maybe it'll even become my "bread and butter" knife, since navajas are kinda niche.
