Snody Knives Battle Tested?

I was wondering if anyone has any links to any Snody knife reviews from military deployment? I see a lot or Strider (sellout, liar) as extremely mainstream among special forces and mainstream in terms of upper echelon knives, one of the most publicized high end knives discussed in military forums and YouTube channels and it makes me wonder why you don't see more snody knives Amon deployed troops and special forces community. I understand strider has military morale patches and has maybe been in the mainstream a bit more than Snody knives , and it seems they target this demographic more and it pays off for them
In terms of civilians considering them to be a mainstream battle proven custom
Knife (cough cough)

In my own independent unbiased research in the outdoors civilian sporting world- snody knives test among the same hardcore stresses as a full action military/combat knife Snody knives perform better, have better edge. Retention, are a higher quality/value ratio, easier to carry, better grip, equally if not more lethal and useful when it comes to skinning and also more multipurpose in terms of fine dicing in food prep to edge lethal factor, about the same
Corrosive resistance depending on model etc etc. point is snody knives tested better or equal in every category

Yet you don't see Snody knives marketed to the military. And in my opinion, this has held the company back in terms of its custom knives becoming more main stream due to the fact that the civilian market usually follows suit of the special forces and military community in terms of consumer proven knife abilities confirmed.

To me this is a huge mistake. It's not my call but I'm wondering if Mike agrees that it would be a good idea to offer small military discounts, create Snody Morale patches and otherwise market his knives as proven field ready combat ready knives. Or even create military specific models.

I see snody knives as being hugely under rated in terms of having a cult like following like strider and I think mike is much higher skilled knifemaker and a more respectable guy in general.

This single demographic would be enough to put snody knives over the top and all the civilian wanna be dudes will follow suit as soon as the special operations community gives the nod that they with stand the rigors of deployment, harsh extreme weather conditions, edge retention after daily hardcore use. This is the ultimate knife gauntlet. And if it passes this it will attract more people than any promotional video or such


Long story short I challenge mike to address the military community in a video. Offer them a small discount and take the face as the new and only respectable capable USA knife maker. Since strider is over priced and a disgrace!

Thanks for your great knives mike. Counting down the hours before the masses catch on that your knives are some of the best in the world and certainly the most fair priced in the world for custom quality

I couldn't agree more with you. However. Since 2003 specialized units, eod, SpecOps and such were issued EOD Breacher Bars as depicted by US GOV'T runs on countycomm.com since then it's become mainstream in the military community and inexpensive among infantry and avg grunts and mechanics etc to pic up one of these to prevent having to perform
These tasks with their edged lifeline weapon. It's become
Very popular to customize the Breacher bars which cost about 17.50 and mid size Breacher bars which costs about 9 dollars and are highly portable. To wrap them
In paracord, reprofile the edges and angles for
Various specific specialized tasks
Mentioned, and even polish and
Personalize these tools.

The soul purpose or these tools is to save your knife from performing drum opening and prying tasks etc and messing up its edge and ultimately your last line of defense


If you have to pull your knife in combat...death is close enough to reach out and touch you and generally closer than you would like to be.

I will agree that specialized combat knives are necessary of
Certain girth and design however

I think even more so this proves the point that every great knife maker should have a combat blade that although not meant for these tasks can perform them under emergency

Also design tools similar to eod Breachers and mid Breachers and pocket pry bars and mini widgy pry bars etc. For military and civilian

But most of all id like to see a design that encompasses a sheath combat knife with this type of
Tool incorporated as either a secondary tool in a double sheath setup, or a design which allows the pummel of the knife to be this prying tool


But my main point and focus is that if u are a great knife maker in the USA. What is more American than designing covert operation knives that are only going to be used for CQB slash and stabs in last resort example no ammo, hand to hand combat, throat slitting sleeping guards lol, an all around knife fighting and parrying.

What is more American and encompasses knife making than that. I'm not saying your whole line has to be that. But what a great way to network to Americans. Thru the people that care about their knives the most.... The people who's lives depend in them

This is the ultimate test and question of time

That is why most military knives are production runs. But I can tell you for a fact at elite levels there are a lot of strider heads and to me Snody is more than capable of producing that patriotism and love
For his knives in this commiunitt which marketing research would indicate is how particular knives brands gain hardcore fans.

Our military fights for our right to make and buy knives and it's more important than ever that that sacrifice is honored. This is just my opinion I love snody knives. I'm just looking at the facts that striders
Are over priced junk and if my grandfather passed me down a snody instead of a kabar my journey thru knives would have been a lot different and if something is going to be heirloom it may as well have the heirloom quality that so many of snodys designs and final product do

Point being this. Snody and strider have two thing in common and that's it. They not make custom knives. And they both have large followings. The line stops there. Snody keeps it real
And strider is a disgraceful liar. Snodys products are reasonably priced extremely high quality. Strider is over priced semiquality

I would rather have a snody bookmark than the best custom strider produces.


Heres why I brought it up in the first place cuz I have no business comparing anyone other than they are both american greats. Strider not so great anymore

No one said snody wanted striders success. Snody is very successful but strider is a house hold name like

Actually Snody knives are pretty popular. Just look at the manufactures who hire Snody to design knives for their company. Look at the knives Snody is producing with hand made Craftsmanship and you will be hard pressed to find another custom knifemaker who can match his out put.

Strider gives knives away to the military and that is good on them. But several knifemakers make knives for the military and usually do it because they want them to have a quality knife in the field. Phill Hartsfield has made knives for military personal for years and recently has made MARSOC knives they donated.

I have huge respect for certain knifemakers as people because they are the real deal, and by real deal I mean good honest people. Two of the knifemakers on top of that list is Phill Hartsfield and Mike Snody. Good people to the core and that is good know.

You are also welcome here but that's not my place to say, I try to stay away from telling people they are welcome or unwelcome anywhere that has nothing to do with me you didn't give the impression that I wasnt welcome don't worry you are a good guy

...if you think about it- in theory everyone here is cool because we all share many of the same hobbies especially passion for blades...how rare and cool is that. Sure there are the casual knife lovers. But we are the people that identify with blades and in theory I have respect for all of those people even if some of them are unfavorable grouch trolls full of hate envy and bitterness...I respond with love....I forgive them because they are part of something really awesome and passion is becoming more and more rare these days and people are becoming quicker at hating on people with the exact same rare passion as themselves which in reality is psychologically a form of displeasure with themselves. Makes u think and wonder why people would be intimidated by a form of themselves....I guess it makes them feel inferior to see someone doing what they do stronger faster harder better and with more vision and potential than them...so they respond the only way they know how...to try to tarnish those people by abusing their power to try to even the playing ground....but that never works...it only makes the hustlers more motivated and it pisses the haters off even more...it's a visciois cycle and it's even occuring right now with every keystroke someone out their is feeling disgust that there is a positive message and a positive agenda.....it's certainly not promoting growth

These same people don't want you supporting the community, putting sheath makers or knifemakers to work...god forbid you create jobs, traffic, and economic support to the site...this makes u worthy of respect and unlimited potential and makes them feel weak and powerless and reality sets in so they abuse the power and paint you to be the bad guy when it's them who is scared of positive change....I don't see anyone new coming in here and promoting a negativity movement do you?

So as far as these slick talkers that have joined lately that you refer to, who do u refer to? What type of slick talk are they engaged in? Have you done business with them? Was it negative? And what were the talking slick about?

What exactly does it mean to be slick? Isn't being slick good if your slickness is directed at combat of the people who are messing up the whole game and hating because they aren't involved?

I'm just making the point that it's a very good marketing idea, and I would like to see more support for our boys over their kicking ass so that we can be who we wanna be and express ourselves and make our presence felt. It's gold.

Original hard use blades, aggressive innovative designs, hard back breaking work, a true value to the customer at fraction iof these idiots getting paid 3 times what a blade is worth and paying the dudes bleeding and sweating less 25 percent

Mike is the American Dream...I'm not getting paid...we are totally neutral...I'd like to branch out and meet 100 knife makers like mike...which by the way mike is so world class he is producing world class knife makers see Joseph Bowen and recent Tad Gear custom knife...can u say sick value?

My goal is to display art, promote peace from knives(I know revolutionary idea, you got me there) and ultimately grow the blade community by attracting celebrities and philanthropists alike to the biggest charity Knife auction in the history of man

Where we all come together as an entire community and stop hating on "slick talkers" show love to each other and show the entire world the blade community is not just a bunch of primal blade slicing cavemen trolling each other and hating on great ideas...to prove solidarity and to prove we can make a difference and that our community is workd class, light years ahead of the gun and hobbyist communites.

That we can stop the dick measuring contest for even a brief moment to align our talents thoughts input ideas skills passion and love...to directly impact a greater cause supporting:
Cancer foundations, autism foundations, boys and girls clubs of america, make a wish foundation, stop shitty music foundation ( joke lol) and it never ends there are literally thousands of worthy causes

And my point is this because some of you are sitting there saying wow I can't read anymore, u may care about these causes and u may not but open your eyes to how this impacts you....

When this happens, we attract new people who are casual blade types to become part of the community, obsessed addicts like us if you will

When this happens a huuuuge influx of money influence and publicity as well as notoriety for people like snody will take place almost instantly!

All of our knives will appreciate in value, supply and demand, we can turn on our tv and see Snody with his own tv show making special knives with special passion

This all looks dandy on paper, but in reality, the blade community needs the money. There isn't enough to go around to support everyone that rocks. The kid in his garage making his first knife can't even get noticed or paid so that he can buy steel to progress.

I'm looking towards the future and think how are we gonna produce the next great snody or Picasso or mozart, these people born with unnatural flowing talents ...right now the only way for that to occur is threw apprenticeship and I have nothing wrong with that but lets just face it..those innovative designs and passion are going to be a lot harder to come by and we and we are gonna see a lot of cookie cutter designs and conflicts of interest out there.

So with my undying love support and passion and the realize this is at a personal level, if everyone matched ten percent if that passion and brought one one new member to the forum we would have a viral effect. So I would urge you to use your heart, stop judging people and listening to others judge someone for u and report to others based on what someone who felt threatened by a great idea told you to feel less worthless....

And report on that.


So now maybe everyone understands a little bit more, can understand and feel the passion and love

And realize that the idea of that being slick talk...makes you look like the slick talker and you might want to go and look in that mirror again and wash your hands and face clean of the negativity because you are loved , appreciated and forgiven because you know not what you do

And let it go on record that a popular politician was just booed for saying we ought to treat others the way we would like to be treated....the golden rule ....the fundamental basis of religion.....we are talking about a bunch of hypocrites who say they believe in Jesus christ but god forbid they actually know what their own religion is about ...and it kills me to say this and I apologize to anyone I offend with this comment...but if Jesus Christ were alive today, these same people would kill him again..because these people know not what they do...I love u guys it's time to start aligning our minds, hearts, souls, and passion and great things happen. 2012 is going to be the greatest year in the history of blades, and you can align your self because as a community we are stick together...if you have alienated yourself come up and shake our hands in the VIP and we will toast to new beginnings and love for they peers and neighbors....I'm not real religious, i believe in positive and negative forces and I know who is coming out on top.

People like you are told what to think and how to think it...u call yourself a snody fan but you are supporting the wishes of people that are deliberately trying to negatively impact snody's customers because of money and jealousy

I don't need confirmation when snody tells me himself that I'm absolutely right


The point was never that dudes weren't slicing arms off in tora bora with snody knives


The point is that all these call of duty strider purchases are being over charged and the reason they made it there in the first place is because they are trying to copy elite special force units who told them in forums they go in that striders are specOps community tested battle hardened approved


The point was that currently in 2012 it's kinda hard to see anywhere unless u go digging...and the target audience is gonna be new new Anyway genius....where snody says hey if u are in the military we are gonna hook you up thanks for what u do...I know he's done it and I know he supports it....I'm just saying it needs to be red white and blue in your face


The problem is anyway that there aren't enough hand made knives to go around anyway and snody isn't gonna sell out...I'm just making point that the more demand there is the more our knives are worth on the market and a lot of us have extras and would love to make some change off some rich call of duty wanna bes that we can put back in the community and fund some hard working dudes we care about and dudes on the up and up like Bowen
