Snow and Nealey Axes?

I'm looking for a small camping/ canoeing axe similar to a Gransfors Forest or Wetterling Forest axe. Snow and Nealley axes seem to be carried by several mail order places I trust like Forestry Suppliers and Ben Meadows. http://www.benmeadows.com/store/product_group.asp?dept_id=1409&cat_prefix=5WB

The Hudson Bay axe at the link above looks like what I'm after. I'd be interested in opinions on the quality of Snow and Nealley axes. Thoughts on that particular axe, and the Hudson Bay head design would also be appreciated.

For $30.00 and change would be worth buying and wringing it out. If it isn't perfect it is nice to have a fair axe for the truck or boat. Looks like they would be better than the ordinary hardware store axe at least and they might be very good.

If you do let us know how it went.

Yes, it never hurts to have a backup or two. Stashed where you'll need 'em.

BTW, North, I shared your account of cleaning Caribou in subfreezing conditions with my main hunting partner my brother. In south Texas are often fighting the clock to get game animals field dressed and cooled down, rather than worrying about anything freezing. :D

I've met a few old timers around who think that snow and nealy axes are about as good as they get. I've never used one myself though.
