On Saturday, I took my youngest son and another lad to Kidderminster station to see the return leg of a steam-hauled special from Birmingham to South Wales and back.
The tour was advertised as the Double-headed Hallage, sounds like haulage, hauled by two Hall-class locomotives. It's a pun, you see. It took ages for me to get it too.
Anyway, for your delectation, Rood Ashton Hall and Kinlet Hall power through Kidderminster station. Not my video but roughly what we experienced. Turn the sound up (unless you are at work).

The youngest boy span round like a top and said: "WOW! I didn't know they went FAST!"

Thanks for sharing that. That is a good video. I'll bet that seeing it was a great experience.

Very cool video! The whistles on the steam locomotives sound so much better than on the big diesels now. I love trains, my Grandfather was a train engineer so I grew up around them and got to ride on them quite bit when I was a boy. Many fond memories...

That must have been great :)
You can't beat US engines for size and power but British engines are prettier :D

The same train in the morning departing Tyseley towards Birmingham City centre, an uphill slog all the way.
