Growing up, I recall a lot more snow through out the winter, but as a result of all the hot air coming out of Washington (IMHO) the climate is getting warmer and snow days have become a bit of a treat around here.

We woke this morning to a light dusting but hey, we'll take what we can get. Off to the woods......

A little jute, some fatwood, and .......... a cheater log! It's been raining for three days and 5 year old boys don't like to wait for hot chocolate. Purists flame on.

Wouldn't be a good redneck hiking thread without a pack and a gun : )

Thanks guys

Awesome...what kind of kettle/Pot was that? I forget?

Snow Peak Kettle No.1. They are great little pots.

His name is Blake. He's a two year old Patterdale Terrier that we rescued from the local shelter. He is always happy. Matter of fact, he's curled up at my feet right now, snoring . :)

The best times I've had outdoors came when I had my nephew with me. Thanks for sharing the pics.

I know what you're saying about the snow. We're 9 inches behind this year. Really sucks.

Priceless memories ! It doesn't seem that long ago when my son was that age but he is a third year engineering student now.

Cool Pics, That is great you and your boy are spending time together and doing some outdoors skills.
