Is that a home made Capote you are wearing?

Nice Pics

I like the flint and steel
seems you like traditional Gear, Im guessing you are more os a birch and leather guy than a kydex and G10 fan

I just told my woman, "he must be a buckskinner-type, with that blanket poncho and fur hat."

Rock ON with a $7 blanket capote, that's cool as a polar bear's butt.

Did I read that right, it's the 2nd winter for that shelter?

Debris shelter looks adequate from this vantage point. Great photographs BTW!. I really enjoyed them, I miss the snow and since my GPS location is closer to the equator than yours I had fun reminiscing..

And, did I read that right?.. You made that cool red jacket out of a $7. blanket you got from the Harbor Freight store??

Excellent photo set, Mewolf! Perhaps you could add a picture of a reenactmant scene too. I still need to get a decent camera to show my drop sleeve bone button shirt and bow drill set.

The capote pattern and dropsleeve shirt, broadfall pants patterns can be found at Dixie Gun Works in Union City, Tennessee, Crazy Crow Trading Post, and a half dozen other places. Most early clothing is easy to sew, even for beginners. They also have patterns for buckskin shirts and pants, and breech clouts. The fur hat patterns can be found online, or you can buy them ready-made from those suppliers too.

You all read right, 7 bucks for the wool blend blanky:D
Yup, 2nd year on the debris shelter and that's 24" of snow in the pics.:D

Absolutely fantastic pics, especially the one of the tender fungus catching the spark. I tend to lean more towards the bark and leather crowd myself, the smell of just burned Goex is one of the sweetest I know, my wife disagrees however. :p I have a pretty nice blanket coat myself, not as sweet as yours, I think I might drag it out of storage. Chris
