Well, it's true. Winter will arrive this year. :(

Snow in the north-central states can be ignored. When they report snow at "higher elevations" in West-By-God-Virginia, we can no longer ignore reality.

Hope the orange crop has been harvested in Southern Ohio.

It's about 76 degrees in Eastern Montana. Our house is at 4500 feet.

Three and a half more weeks before I can head home to West Virginia for some deer hunting with the sons. Higher elevations in Preston County is where we'll be....Come on, November!!!

Hey Jurassic,

Preston Co. is awesome! It snows there when it doesn't anywhere else ;)

A good friend of mine is a land surveyor and has an office in Terra Alta. Also have another good buddy who is a lawyer in Masontown.

How do you go to get there?

I take 64 to 79 and then get off Sabroton. Takes me about 5 hours to get there.

I just got back from a little walk in the woods with my old border collie by headlamp(and w/khuk) and all it's doing here is raining and I climbed about a mile straight uphill and my glasses were so fogged I couldn't figure out where the f- I was :D But I am far west westbygod. Kate, the dog has hip dysplasia so bad she kind of hops with both of her back legs but it doesn't seem to slow her down

Eight inches at our farm in preston county, WV this morning, and no electric power for Joan's 95 year old parents right this minute. Using a wood fire and melting snow for drinking water....the well is electric.

Hollowdweller, We come across I-70 to Cambridge, OH, then down to Parkersburg, east on 50 to Clarksburg, and up to Fairmont where two of our adult children live...one is the Nat'l Guard Recruiter for that area. Joan's farm take I-68 East to Bruceton, south on 26 and right at Sugar Valley...then way back in
