Who out there has snow on the ground already? I have hoped for a decent snowfall for about the last five or six years and have had nothing more than a couple inches at a time. Every year they say it is going to be a bad winter, but where is the snow. Let me lust over your white stuff on the ground.

Aaahhh, snow...........

Here's a list of what I like about snow;

1} It melts away and spring blooms

Yup, that's about it!!!

:D:D

Randy,
I am going to guess that in northern NY you get more snow by Thanksgiving that I have seen in several years. If I was in that climate I may not enjoy it as much, but here lately I just can not get enough of the white stuff.

Tilaran,
I have not been to the beach since I was around 4 so I do not know anything about that.
The closest I have been was several years ago I was in Mobile, AL for work and no time to play. I did get plenty of that white stuff on me from rolling around on the ground working on equipment.

I cant wait for snow !Earlier this year we had a real good blizzard 30+ inches and couple years ago we had a good one on halloween! The craziest thing though, is the Ice storms or freezing rain. It coats everything and you wake up walking outside like you are in some kind of crystal dome. Of course lots trees break and power goes out for days at a time.

A friend of mine on facebook said she woke up to a couple inches in Montana.
I can't wait (insert excited expression here).

It's quite a bit worse about 2 hours south of me, from lake effect snow from Lake Ontario. We do get some good storms that follow the St. Lawrence river. The thing I don't like is the bitter cold we get drifting down from Canada. Our weather right here is quite unpredictable. I've seen snow before Holloween and I've seen green Christmas. Weeks of sub-zero temps are worse than all the snow!!

Like Tim says, there are times when everything has a coat of glistening crystals all over. Watching the sun come up thru the trees is quite spectacular at times.

Thanks A LOT!!! Now I'm cold!! ;):D

Sorry to make anyone feel cold. I worked with a guy from Buffalo a few years ago and he talked about the massive snow falls. I bet it does get rather tiring after a couple times.
One of the coolest things I remember was working above tree line in Colorado there was still snow in spots in June. I think we were up around 14,000 ft and the spots were very steep in the shadows of cliffs and rocks, but it was snow none the less.

Chris,
You are welcome to all of the snow you like! LOL. Many years ago I moved to Boulder Co, and only lasted till mid February of the first winter before I quit my job, loaded up the pickup and have the dog jump in for the trip back to California. I like to swin in the ocean in Dec-Feb. Enjoy!

moved to Texas about 4 and a half years ago from Pennsylvania and I go through snow withdrawal every year. I really miss it. Though it is nice bragging to family when they are freezing and I'm grilling outside in shorts still.
