Today was the day that Snow came over to work on his special project - an interchangeable blade saw. It worked out well, and uses saber saw blades.

While we were at it, I finished a matching handle knife to go with it.

Very cool design on the saw and i love the knife. You continue to impress me with your versitlity John.

That's very cool and I have to agree that the small knife looks great and would be a real handy edc knife !!!!

Neat. Next time hollow out more of the steel/micarta to use as extra blade storage how bout?

Great idea.
My Leatherman Surge has the ability to take the same blades, but it's not nearly as strong or functional as your design.

Interesting saw design. I don't know if the saw blades are symmetrical (attachment on both ends) but I thought hand saws cut on the pull stroke rather than the push so the blade doesn't bend/break.

I can't believe I missed this thread!

Yeah the place I got the saw blades had a somewhat poor selection. I knew I would be able to change the blade out when I found one with a better profile, so I didn't waste a lot of time on it. We talked about making storage for another blade in the handle but decided against it. A lot of trouble for not much reward, IMO. I will probably change blades at home most of the time, rarely in the field.

The accompanying knife is definitely one of my favorites. It's a great size and comfortable grip. Awesome blade.

We have revised the design a bit using a sawzall blade. I'll post pictures when I can.
