Usually I have to travel to the snow belt or the UP to get enough snow to strap on the racquets. But this week, we got about a foot of snow in my area, and one the areas I frequent got almost a couple feet. I didn't need much more excuse than that : ) So, I took the kiddies out.
My oldest is wearing my modern shoes. A pair of 30" Atlas. It doesn't seem to make sense to buy him "kid" shoes to grow out of, when he doesn't have a problem with these at all. Plus, they are a lot better than the ones they sell for kids.
The snow level in the woods was a bit of a disappointment. Borderline even needing the shoes. But, some of the open field areas that we hit, they were definitely nice to have.
I figured we would be doing more walking than my little girl could do, so I had her start out in my pulk, and she ended walking later (she almost had to to stay warm. It is hard to stay warm just sitting).
My son took this picture of us. That explains the chopped off legs : )
Since you can't see my feet, here is what I was wearing.
Hot cocoa and snacks is always required, so we hung the billy.
Kind of patiently waiting : )
My princess. Also showing a bit of the terrain.
Finally, no woods outing would be complete without a little knife porn. My carry for the day.
With neck sheath.
That is about all. Nothing overly excited, but figured I would share the pictures.
I have gotten out of the habit of taking pics while I am out. So, I figured I would share them while I had them : )
