Snowshoed into my cabin yesterday afternoon to check on it, make sure its getting through the winter alright. They don't plow the road back there so it's about a 2hr hike in on snowshoes. I decided to stay over night and hike out late this morning. I packed in super light (just extra wool socks, a Subway footlong, my wilder forge necker and a few 22oz bottles of my home-brew double IPA in my pack) since I've already got plenty of blankets and necessary stuff at the cabin. I'm glad I didn't have to haul in anything extra too, hoofing through snow that deep isn't ez haha. There's electric and running h2o but I turn it all off during the winter months and didn't bother turning anything on for an overnight. Built a fire in the wood stove to keep warm and dry my clothes, even melted snow for water and made coffee this morning... I had too much fun, I really needed to get away from life for a day. Here's a few pictures I should have taken more.
