Snowshoeing Areas

Hey everyone,

I live in MA close to the NH border. We have up to two feet of snow headed our way and I'm thinking of going snow shoeing. I've only ever used them on mountains before, so don't really know where to go to just snow shoe. I'm looking for an area that's not super-dangerous (not above tree line, so just staying off the summits basically) but that still might have some super views. I'd love to get away from other people as much as possible, too. If you know of any special spots for a day of snowshoeing in MA, NH, or ME, please let me know.

I'm in Maine, if you're in the state I recommend Acadia Nat'l park, Baxter State Park, Cutler Bold Coast Trail, and the St. Georges trail system in the Camden area

I recommend you head south and east to the AT or Taconic Plateau near the CT/NY border.

Try the Appalachian Trail between Mt. Everett in MA and bear Mt. in CT.

Across the street (Mt. Washington Rd.) is Mt. Alander and the Taconic Plateau.
