Last week I attended the Pathfinder School Gathering in Ohio, proudly wearing my BK2 on my belt. I was a little surprised to people wearing only $100-$500 scandi ground customs or moras while I was there, with the exception of 2 other BK2s a USMC model and a Tracker knife. I even took my old Mora that I couldn't bring myself to like with the intent of finding some young bushcrafter with less or nothing I could give it to, I get there and find 10 and 12 year olds wearing customs in kydex sheaths!! The whole time im there I make a prick of myself by offering my 2 to people struggling to baton there fancy custom knives, or when someone shows me there knife I make a comment like "thats cute" or "I might pick one of these up..... for my daughter". At any given moment I was expecting security to tap me on the shoulder and say "excuse me sir, I am going to have to ask you to leave" but they didn't. Was I ever surprised when I see Dave put a photo montage up on his youtube channel and my BK2 is prominently displayed in the center of the shot. Jump to 4:04 and you will see me cutting out a notch for a bow drill hearth board.

A lot of people don't feel like lugging a 2lb knife around all day. No reason to run around as you said "making a prick of yourself" or making snide comments about someones choice of knife to carry, Not everyone feels the need to carry something to baton a honda. That doesn't help make any new Beckerheads. :thumbdn:
Had I been lucky enough to attend something like that you can bet I would spend my time learning and making some friends not showing off my 60$ knife.

i agree with with skystorm. but on the other hand dave canterbury knive is a pretty good knife. its no becker.
but they are both verry capable if you know what you are doing.

Ahhh.....knife fights over size...love it. Makes no difference to me what they carry as long as they know how to use it. I like to take cut down machetes to those things as no one expects that and I get funny looks at a 12 inch overall machete in kydex. Especially as a knife maker. But then I am not there to impress anyone just to learn all I can.

If I remember right the BK2 with sheath only weighs 1 pound...

That's cute... douche bags being dicks for no apparent reason... You should feel proud of yourself.
