Sure are some great stories trickling in.

If I understand it correctly, Ray Kirk won the cutting contest again and that just barely scratches the surface of what sounded like a great weekend. Heard Margaret Moran had a bunch of folks in the palm of her hand from haveing to ask for a knife (twice no less) to her speach. I know it was a very special weekend for a lot of folks and especially the A.B.S.

Congratulaltions Ray. Heard a couple of surprises were cooked up for the tests.

Hi Gus,

I got numerous pics at the HammerIn plus a firsthand experience of all the things you mention and more.

I will be back in Friday and will post a link as soon as I get the pages built up to give a little virtual tour of the Hammer In

Thanks Gus,
There certainly were some surprises in the cutting contest. They had started some rumors about shaving a ballon with shaving cream on it. I just knew we were going to get gooey. They even had a blown up ballon and a can of shaving in cream sitting on the table before the contest. You can never tell what is going to happen with Jerry Fisk in charge.
I had a great time as usual and it was really even better because there were more people there. The 52100 hunter with the 5" blade that I used in the contest will be up for grabs at the ABS auction on Friday the 8th of June in Atlanta. I was going to give it to Bill Moran for helping me in knife making when I needed it. He thought we should let Dr. Batson figure out what to do. The auction is what he figured out. This way some one will end up with a knife with a story. Any one can attend the auction and if you know of some one that can't be there, I think that arrangements can be made for phone bidding. You can check out the ABS web site at www.americanbladesmith.com for all the details.

The Auction will be at 6:00 PM on the 8th in room 103.

Stop and visit if you can. I will be at 18-N.

CONGRATS RAY!
hope you had/are having a good time.

give max my regards,too.

While we are at it, the A.B.S. will be holding a banquet on Friday night rather than the usual breakfasts that are hosted during the blade show.

Not sure if they have current emails of all the members. So if you did not get notice of the dinner and you are an ABS member email me and I will forward the information to you.

Thanks Kevin! those will be great to see.
I hear you ran into one of my best friends while a "couple of other guys" were testing his knife since he had a bad shoulder bruise
