Well, you all know the story.
I am happy to say that I did manage to fix everything on jeep, that way it gets me through the year until I can upgrade. It was a PIA but sure am happy it is done.
After a partial trade with a forum member, I also managed to score a toy.
A sebenza 25. There are a few key points that i will bullet. It has been a few years since I actually got to use one of these and I have to say, not that time has passed I actually love it. And from a rough around the edges guy like myself. The 25 fits my needs better than the 21 did.

However there is really nothing to compare between these knives and I will say that now. Besides the fact that they both cut great. They really are two different animals and they should really not be compared.

THis knife takes everything I love about the sebenza but throws in a pinch of bad ass, and durability. It has been doing everything I hoped and more like my 21 did but I have been using for alot of wood processing as well for a fire and all around yard work. I actually did some chopping with it and sliced around an old tire I tossed today. The edge held up very well. And it stropped back to a paper cutting edge.
With a perfect edge it has been cutting wood and other items like that with ease and as good if not better in that department than the 21.
Everything I thought about its cutting performance was dead wrong.
And on top of that . After all this use and sharpening it back up. It is much harder than the few 21 models I have owned. Not a little but it is easy to notice on the stones and also when cutting alot of wood and wire. As it keeps that razor edge for along long time.

Last thing. i sanded the interior corner of the insert part of the clip. This allowed me to angle it just slightly into the handle torward the cut out line in the frame lock. Although it did not bother me before this actually madkes the clip go away 100%. The edge of clip just lands in the middle of the cut out of the framelock and will not budge.

Anyhow, it really is working for me and I like that it does everything my 21 did but actually whispers in my ear that she wants to be abused!
here are some photos, enjoy and I will be reviewing more as we go along.

I cleaned her up and broke her down. Put some lube on the lock and ball and she is smooth. Not like the 21 but good enough considering how much more spring is on the lock bar.

Lock up is nice and early after cleaning and I flipped the stop pin and that made it like new. Check out the picture below and check out the new fluoro grease I picked up. Very cheap and looks about the same. I will let you know how this stuff works compared over the next few weeks.

Thank you again pal!. This 25 has soul, and my soul is happy to have it!

Can you spot the CRK? ;)

I'd like to see the pocketclip side after the mod, that is the one thing that bugs me about my 25 is the standard CRK clip ends in sort of a bad spot. IMHO it should be a 1/4" shorter on that model.

Nice to hear everything fell into place for you mister.

But I am more than curious about the above statement; this is far from the first time I hear about this. Have anyone confirmed this with CRK? I mean 21/25 are both S35VN and I don't get why they would run different heat treating on the two blades? Both specs say 58-59 RC.

Great knife. My favorite of the CRK line.

Any reason why there is a school in the background?...........

Yeah, it is very pleasant difference as well. If they are 58-59. My friend was saying there is a huge difference performance wise between the two. That said. This 25 is easily keeping its edge like any other steel I have used in the range. Like striders S30V or others. Its not brittle at all due to being S35VN. But damn, it is super impressive and I have owned used or sharpened alot of 21's and there is no doubt in my mind. It could be he makes sure they are ran in the 59.
It has been extremely uniform and just keeps coming back on the strop at a higher sharpness than I ever expected.

That is actually, the bus company near the post office. I was mailing out a package and decided to whip out my camera. My kids are only in an early learning center. Tool little.

Well, the length doesnt bother me. And ever more so now that I slid the clip over just a bit, I also flattened out the design a little really grab with the second bend that snags the pants. I will post a picture. Hold up.

I see what you mean now. Luckily I didnt notice, but this makes a huge difference. Small change but for the better.
I also low profiled the pocket clip as you can see to grab the seam better. If anyone has a picture to compare the profile of stock clip I would love to see the difference.

What I meant by the length is the last bend of the clip ends up in the "dip" of the finger grooves, right where your finger "needs" to be due to the grooves in the Ti slabs. The clip also is positioned lower on the lockbar than my 21's, making it closer to where one's hands curl around the grip.

Glad to hear that the jeep is squared away and that you like your new 25. Everything happens for a reason, enjoy using that bad boy!!

Thanks.
I was just about to say that.
Things do happen for a reason and sometimes they just plain work out.

Glad to hear it, Matt! What is the birthdate of this 25?

My plain Jane 25 you reprofiled is an early (1/30) first production model and the steel is definitely harder than my 21's.

I like the lanyard, I've noticed too that the 25 and Umnumzaan seem to be HT closer to 59, like you stated, it is a noticeable difference when sharpening and edge retention, even though it's not confirmed by CRK. I have several 25's, a couple of the pinned blade stops and a new Lefty and they all seem to have the same hardness.
Great pics. Glad to hear the Jeep is good for another year!!!!
