So, any other clip options for the 25?

Okay guys out of all the knives I have, the 25 is in my pocket every single day now for about 2 years. And, I am one who actually love the finger grooves. This knife was just meant for my hand. I usually carry a smaller knife sometimes too, something like a barlow, but always seem to need my 25 on me always.

My only issue with it, is that I have been using her and carrying in my pocket. I am getting sick of it. Frankly, its annoying to have this knife not with a clip, but its so comfortable for me without it digging into me. I love the knife, but like some others (only a few it seems) the clip digs into my finger real bad and its so uncomfortable that I bought the filler piece and have been using it without clip for the last 2 years.

This knife has become a part of me, my hand almost. Its funny, the grooves in the handle work perfect for me, but without that clip. And, I like I said, i am sick of having two knives in my pockets, and want ever so badly to be able to clip this knife to my pocket instead of having it lay in the pocket, and don't want to use a slip for this knife since its more of my user and not just pocket jewelry.

So, although I may be in the minority, I am curious if anyone else has come up with a new way to bend the clip, or a different one that works, that fits the space in the handle. (i know others have tried some other CR clips, but iirc they don't fit the space properly). I am thinking more about bending the clip if I must, and/or taking about 1/4 inch off the length, and hoping someone has done it before so I don't end up ordering another clip if I screw it up. Again, just wondering and I really love this knife except for that little issue. Anyone know if the clip needs to be heated for a new bend to work?

Without the clip is great, but if I can maybe put a different bend in this one so solves my issue, it would be even better. Keeping it in the pocket is getting annoying, and I do plan on finding a way to make this knife work for me with a clip somehow. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas or hopefully pics:thumb:

The Ti-Lock clip fits nicely. I'm sure someone will be along with a picture. There are also some other options on the Bay.

I'm also interested to hear options others have found!
Yes the TI lock clip fits but damn is it ugly and annoying to use. I hated it so much I sold my TI lock almost solely because of the clip alone. Some really like it though so it may be worth a shot for you!
I also Edc a 25 daily but fortunately the clip doesn't bother me.

A couple more options are an old school pre-bend CRK clip or buy a blank and do some mods and bending to it. Also, there are a bunch of great craftsmen in the 'Services Offered' section that I am sure can produce something nice.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am not crazy about those mxggear ones, don't seem to fit the sebenza "look" to me.

I think I'm going to try to mod the clip that comes with it, and see how it goes. I can always order another, and i've already been used to the feel of the knife without it, so no big deal if I mess up. I am thinking really just about a quarter inch of removal should work for me. We'll see, I'll post some pics after. Thanks again for the help.

I hope you get the results you are looking for. While I have successfully bent a CRK clip before, I did break one trying to bend it just a bit. I was trying to go slow and easy but it snapped like it was pot metal. I didn't use any heat when I broke the clip though.

Titanium is easy to work with, you should be able to modify yours, with heat, vice, plyers.
I've done this many times with "other" clips like Strider, etc.
The Sebenza clip, I think is perfect as is.
Good luck with yours.

I am not sure I understand how the clip bothers you. I like the Sebenza clip quite a bit because it goes unnoticed (for me)...I am not sure what other options you would have, because most other clips seem more obtrusive to me.

I have seen guys that put a clip on the lanyard. I do not have images, but imagine the knife riding in the pocket and the lanyard has a clip midway up that allows you to access the knife easily and quickly even in tight jeans. Once in hand, the lanyard and clip hang out the back of your grip and the knife is basically what you are used to now. It is a thought...

Good luck!

The Sebenza clip is perfect, but it doesn't really fit the 25's fingergrooves.

Okay guys thanks for all the replies. I'm going to mod this one a bit, and was wondering the best way to heat the clip before bending.
I don't want to blacken it with a torch, so perhaps a heat gun?
Any thoughts?

Thanks again, will post pics when I finish.

All I can offer is some thoughts with the following disclaimer: I'm no expert and have only a vague idea, but if I were doing this, my questions would be: When you heat Ti to a certain temp, it will start to anodize. Do you need to reach those temps or not to bend? If so, can the ano colors be buffed out like can be done with electro-anodizing? Can you reblast when you are done to remove the anodizing, tool marks, and return to the original texture?

Best of luck. I am excited to see what you come up with.

Heat gun not hot enough, use propane torch.
Clamp in vice, use plyers to bend after heating up, be sure it's red hot or you will fracture it. It will take several heat and bend actions.

You should take a few practice runs at it with a scrap piece.
If you really mess yours up, I can make you a new "shorter" one from .032 titanium.

good luck

Quick update. Called CRK, to ask if I modded the clip or filed just a bit of the tip off that digs into my finger, could I send it back in to get re-blasted to match the knife, and sadly they won't reblast a modded clip. So, just ordered an extra clip to mod, and in case it gets messed up I will still have my original that came with the knife.

Also, I did try to post a WTB ad for an Older style clip, with no luck. So, as soon as it gets here I'm going to take just a bit off the end, maybe a quarter inch. The Ti-lock clip idea is very interesting too, a may just order one of those too. I can always give it away, I'm willing to pay a few bucks for an extra clip or two to get this knife that extra 1 percent to be perfect for me.

My hands are actually "getting used to" the knife with the clip now. But, still doesn't feel natural.

It seems for me with the clip, I tend to put more pressure on the lock bar making the knife harder on my thumb to open, and its kinda hard to hold the knife differently without dropping it to try to get around this. I've been trying to make it work, maybe its my hands. No big deal. I still love this knife.

I guess I'm still kinda debating the convenience of the clip vs. the comfort in hand without. But, when the new clip gets here I'm going to see what I can do anyways, as its been eating at me to try.

I've been going back with and without the clip on it, and the darn thing just feels so perfect in hand without the clip for my hands. I am starting to realize that if I were to just take the part of the clip that sticks way up at the tip (the part that can get snagged when clipped to pants) down just a bit, it may be fine. I'm eager to find a solution to having to remove from the pocket and then a pocket slip. Also gonna think about the clip on a lanyard idea. Seems feasible. I don't know.

Still really like the idea of the older clip though. I'll post pics in a few days, just wanted to update. Thanks again for all the ideas.
