I was just curious, and since the other thread is locked, figured I start a new one.

Are your hearts set on making the new folders with Lionsteel? IOW, overseas?
 
For the benefit of us foreigners, would you mind explaining what IOW stands for?

In the UK it means the Isle of Wight, which doesn't make much sense in this context
 
We have not been able to find a U.S. maker to produce the folder in our time frame with our quality standard. SHon Rowen is swamped for the near future and we wanted to get this going. Lion built our proto types and we have ben very happy with the quality as well as the owner, Gianni. He has the shop time to get them out and provide the highest quality for you at a good price. Mike
 
The 4 proto type folders Gianna has build are solid and heavy duty.... I was very impressed and those who know me know I am not a big fan of non US knives.....
& After piddling with the ESEE3 F for a week .... I can not wait to own 1 or 2 :D
 
just thinking out loud but, I'm sure the other thread was locked for a reason..

regardless of who/what/when/where/why these guys aren't going to settle for their knives being built by some yahoos that's for sure..
 
I locked this thread. We had a thread dedicated to this and all we asked is that everyone state their opinion and not debate others. Well, that didn't work and it turned into children bantering back and forth. So, we're not going there again. Bottom line is Lion Steel is building the folder for us and we completed that deal at SHOT show. Will we be doing a USA folder? Absolutely! Should anyone choose to sell off their ESEE knives becaus of this, well, the exchange forum is open for business :)
