So as you've purchased higher and higher end stuff, what did you do with the others?

I've come to this point where I'm moving higher up the totem pole, yet collecting a closet full of barely used knives that aren't quite that high up the pole..ie, my Strider and Spydies are being used, while I have a buncha CRKTs that I bought solely for the design (I have 2 Desert Cruisers and 2 Vieles)..

Would you sell em off to fund more stuff, or hang on to em?

I just put mine on a shelf.

Mine all go in display cases, and for right now, shoved in a corner of the closet. One year, I may get around to hanging the things. Procrastinator ya know.

Since I started buying quality knives, all my Gerbers, Cases, KaBars, Bucks, Schrades, etc have gone into a big box that I keep for "beaters" and loaners.:p

When I first acquired a belt sander, it was very convenient to have a bunch of old junkers around to learn on. :D:D

I have sold off all my production knives. ( The exception being Chris Reeve knives.)

I sell, sell, selll, so that I can buy, well can not really buy, buy, buy as it works out close to a 3:1 ratio of sell to buy. But you get the point, as I sell some to help fund others, plus I got to the point where I only wanted to keep those knives I would actually carry and use......................................dont know if it is going to work out exactly that way!

I have given a few away, and keep a few around as beaters. Most, however, now sit unused. I need to find new homes for some of them.

As I purchased higher and higher end stuff I eventually went back to the basics and started collecting inexpensive small slipjoints. ;)

It's about the hunt, the chase, the score...
after, climb up, dip down, sell, give, grind, display, it doesn't matter
that shiney lure glisten, always out of reach,
you're hooked - keep on

So far, I have enough room to keep them all; I do give away some as gifts. Sooner or later, space will become an issue. Guess we'll see what happens then . . .

James Todd - I never get tired of that picture. First section, fourth row from the bottom, third knife from the left - a Sod Buster I assume? If so, what brand?

thx - cpr

Sodbuster by Case, Kentucky Bi-Centennial or something, they had three out with etching, Wooden handles, Stag and Green, If you click the magnifier (upper right of ea picture) once you clicked my collection in my signature link, and look at the lower left section, you can see some of the green etchings on the first four and barely read Kentucky on the blades.
Thanks for the comments,
Jim
PS: hold down the left clicker on mouse and drag photo around to see all once it is magnified.
