I had been talking with OKB (Joe... Awesome guy btw) and apparently was overheard. A few days ago I get an PM on here from another member asking if I'd still like a set of scales for my 1117. Of course I jumped on the chance as the only reason I don't carry the knife more is the handle is too thin and uncomfortable! So after a couple of messages back and forth. As well as the repeated explanation this are the first attempt at making scales, I pass along my address. Today I get a package in the mail, open them up, and BOOM! Scales for the 1117 that for all intents and purposes are AWESOME! They actually make the handle feel comfortable!
Not only that, the colors ROCK!!!!!

I can quickly see this becoming quite a capable belt knife!
 
Awesome stuff CBear; you had me excited though - I almost thought the scales were actually coming from KaBar. Oh well, maybe in the future…What kind of material? G10? Love the look of the liners too; might have to whip up a set for mine. Great score!
 
They look flippin amazing! Super jelly right here! And I love those liners. Awesome sauce CBear! Were they one offs or is that mysterious cool person going to make more? Me wanty for mine!
 
I believe, after future discussions, there will be more awesomeness in the works! I'm not putting him out there but when he is ready he will make himself known.

I love them! I am ready to get the hardware to mount my sheath to my belt and it will ROCK as a belt knife now!

I reckon a TDI pocket clip would fit that sheath. I added one to a BK11 sheath. Made it super versatile as you can clip it on a belt or pocket or even just the top of your pants..

What are the scales made from? It's kinda hard to tell from the pics..

I'm thinking July 10th I'll order some 710 pants for my 1117. Since it is my birthday and Julio's it's a special day.

The scales are G-10 not sure what the liners are but I think also G-10.

so am I the only one who thinks those look like the scales from a kershaw skyline? :D
