...that I can't even buy a replacement thumb stud from them as i got my 940 from ebay and i don't have the original buyer's receipt. bummer.

Bull-loney. Call 'em up on the customer service 800 line. Might be some issue with international shipping, but I'm sure they'll send you a thumb stud. Benchmade sells knives in the EU, so I'm sure they support them there as well.

This!

I've sent in many knives to Benchmade and NEVER have I been asked to produce a receipt or anything else for that matter for the knife to be serviced. I've sent in at least 3 or 4 knives that I got used and sent them in for various reasons to have a little work done. Never an issue.

I get your out of the country but I've seen BM go out of their way many times to accommodate owners overseas.

Like Steve said, call them, explain where you are and what you need and I'm sure they will figure out a way to help you.

All the best!

No distributor has the final say over what any manufacturer will do (unless of course they are one in the same). I saw your thread earlier and was going to post, but it was a heavy day at work.

I love Benchmade beyond reason, but they will not SEND you omega springs or washers or anything other than a clip in my experience. I've never asked about thumb studs, but they always sight "safety concerns" and that they don't want people making Frankenstein knives out of spare parts. They can be surprisingly cool so do give it a go. I'd love to hear what they say.

Do the Call. I got the same Problem with a poketclip here in germany to. Corrine from Benchmade was verry nice and she will send me a new clip.

Flow-dog, BKC has been outstanding to me. They were fully aware that my knife was pre-owned, yet they didn't care at all. They actually did a lot to service my knife and didn't charge one cent.

Under normal circumstances Benchmade doesn't send parts (other than clips). However, I've read, on more than one occasion, where they shipped parts to folks overseas. Just make it clear that you're concerned about the knife getting lost or stolen in transit.

Thats a bummer man. I sent my 760 off to be reprofiled and the guy ground a 1/8 of the thumbstud. Story short, benchmade is sending a replacement out for a discontinued knife. Great company!!!

If you must disassemble the knife to replace a part (thus voiding the warranty), they will not send it. However, thumbstuds, screws, clips, etc., are not an issue.

alright, quick update, i got in contact with a very nice international sales rep and she will be sending me the items. AWESOME!
she urged me however to check the distri once again the next time... kinda worries me... i will have to see how this will turn out.

In my experience, they will send clips without question. Heck I even got them to send me a clip for a knife I don't own (Adamas deep carry clip for Griptilian)!
