I just had the USPS ruin the rest of my weekend. I recently completed a deal with TallPaul, for my first sebenza. 2002 small with snakewood inlay. Well, as my luck would have, I waited around for the mail to run in my apartment complex, went and checked my mailbox, and low-and-behold I've got one of the "sorry we missed you" notes! They never even came to my apartment to try and deliver. Maybe that's their policy in an apartment-type community, I don't know. Just really disappointing when you're really expecting it. Thanks for letting me blow off a little steam. Oh, I even drove down to the post-office knowing it was closed. The lobby was open and I could hear people in the back behind closed doors. I rang the buzzer and banged on the door but no one would come, lol. Just a measure of my frustration.:D

I would not be surprised if that was PO policy in an apt. comple. I have an apt. this coming semester and it will suck if this is indeed the case. I know it is only one more day, but when you want the knife the day you seal the deal its one more day of agony.

Yeah, I checked at the office but due to it being insured, they didn't leave it. Oh well, just one more day now.

I don't know about USPS but UPS seems to do the old stealth-delivery of "sorry we missed you" notes pretty often. Helps 'em keep on schedule if they don't have to actually dig out packages or go up to apartments. Last year I was awaiting delivery of a guitar by UPS, and I was home all day. My wife was sitting on the couch 8 feet from the front door and happens to catch a glimpse through the window of the UPS guy skeedaddling away. He leaped in that truck and was GONE. If he'd knocked even lightly she would have heard it.

They probably thought you were a disgruntled ex employee.
Nah, those guys just shoot the locks off. :D

Waiting sucks though. Everybody here can sympathize with you.

How are you ever going to get it, if the mailman won't try to actually deliver it and only leaves love notes in your mailbox about how he misses you?

Honestly, sometimes the mail & ups guys just piss me off almost enough to entertain thoughts of physical violence, but it's just not worth it...

My thoughts exactly Mikemck! I suppose they're getting lazy and want you to come pick the package up as opposed to them actually having to deliver it like they were paid to do! And yes, the physical violence did run through my mind but then again, I knew if I forced the post office door open and caused physical harm, it may be 15-20 years before I could get my hands on that sebenza!:D
