I'm so confused, I went all the way up to Cabela's near Austin,Tx. and bought my Benchmade green handled 551 griptilian with the straight edge D2 blade, and I want to carry it around, but my Spyderco Military has me confused!!!

I just bought my Military a week ago, so I haven't had enough "alone" time with it yet, so it's making it hard to carry around my brand new griptilian. I don't know what to do!!! I should be jumping for joy with my two new toys, but I just can't choose between them now. I never thought my Military would be so....well......comforting. I made this special trip for my griptilian and I end up being satisfied with my Military which I already had before the darn trip.

What do you guys think? Which one do you guys believe is "better?"

Just send the griptillian to me. :D Ill carry it around for you so you so you dont make your military jealous. ;)

Simple: carry both.:D

LOL, I did today!!! That made it worse, it's like wearing two left shoes :o. I kept switching them from my pockets everytime I went to the bathroom today. I wanted to see how each one felt so I switched each one in my right side pocket.

Welcome to bladeforums, as to your question, you need to go to the main page, then go to either Maintenance and Tinkering, or the SOG area and at the top of that page click on "NEW THREAD" Then you can place your question there. And then you'll get the hang of this. Took me a good month to get settled in.

I feel you there. My Caly 3 has been in EDC since I got it, but I can't seem to bring myself to take my Mini Ritter Griptilian out of my pocket.

At least it's warm, so I get shorts with cargo pockets. :D

Put both knives on your dresser and you'll see which one you will clip to your pocket for the day. That's your knife.

Thanks for the tip Lycosa, it ended up being the Military all three times that I did it. I set them on the table (staying in a hotel in San Antonio) and walked away. When I came back, I subconciously grabbed the Military all three times that I tried this. So I guess I'll carry that today....and I'll take the grip for the ride :D.

With those quality blades, just alternate until you see which one better fits your needs for EDC, then use the other as a very able backup when the primary gets dull and you don't have time to sharpen.

And, see a therapist :)

Thanks brian :D.

I recently had almost the same issue. I bought a 556D2 and a Para-Military within a week of each other. Simply, whichever I go for in the morning I carry. It actually breaks even over time for me. Also, on days when it rains, its the para, and its been raining a lot lately. Just thank your lucky stars that such quality in knives exists, and you have a choice!

117---I think you're making progress! lol. Now rain is an other issue! On rainy days, I carry the Mission titanium MPF. Have you looked at a P-Mil??

Carry whichever one feels better in your hand and is most comfortable to use. Close your eyes and handle them both and you will get a better sense of which feels better.

REFRAIN??? Jump in! Get the Para Military first. Or get the Military first. How's that for advice??

it will definitely be the Mil first. I like pocket machete's . lol. I'm not sure why I haven't. I'm trying to be responsible here, stop it. I have the one I want bookmarked on knifeworks. It's in an open fire fox tab when I leave everyday so it pops up every morning. I'm waiting for it to not say "temporarily out of stock". D2/plain blade/green handle.

I have looked at it, and the Caly 3, so don't get me started on those two either :D. So far it's been the military in the main pocket (my right hand side) and the 551 in my other pocket. I'll play with the 551 while I'm driving (flipping the axis lock open and closed is a lot of fun :o), and use the Military for anything else I can think of. The 551 is still brand spanking new, the only thing I've done with it is carried it with me since Wednesday.
