I Decided On An Old Schrade 34OT Old Timer With The Three Blades.
This Knife Came To Me Rusty And Beat Up, The Main Blade Was Very Badly Chipped.
Well, Since Then It's No Longer Rusty But Has That Really Neat Spotted Patina That Some Knives Get, And The Main Blade Has Been Completely Reground Into A Nice Curve That Goes Up Into A Tip. I Oiled It Up Cleaning Out The Gunk Of The Pivots, Gotta Love My Tri-Flow.

So Now It Looks Like Just A Gorgeous Old Knife. This Is One Of The Older Schrades As It's USA Made.

Do You Guys Think This Will Be A Nice Gift For A 55 Year Old Man Who Likes SAK's And Traditional Looking Knives? Actually, He Has A Thing For Anything Old And Interesting.

Pictures Are Kind Of Dark But You Can See What I Mean.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing with my father but maybe with a yellow handled knife, you know, something that will bring back a memory or two. Good post

I think it's an awesome gift! And I'd love to see a pic.

There are probably millions of used Old Timers floating around that, with a little TLC, would make outstanding EDC knives.

Thanks Guys, I'll Post Some Pics Later, As It's Only 7:13am And I Can't Get Back To Sleep But I'm Sure I Should Be Able To Here In a Little While, Because I'll Get Tired Again Lol.

From your description of him, I'm sure he'll like it. Knowing that you put the care and effort into making it usable again will mean even more. Good job!
