Ok, so I have so many knives. I've been collecting for years now and used to EDC something. I got out of the habit because of school, my dad being on my back about no knives in public and my little brother getting into them. Since then my dad doesn't live with me anymore, my brother has grown up and i keep all of my knives out of the safety box. Out of school too but i am having a hard time edc'ing something. I am either afraid to ruin my knives i paid a lot for (and get this, i paid a lot to get quality that won't get ruined as easily! lol) and i'm not worried about sheeple. I want to carry a dedicated multi tool and a fixed blade and get back into my carrying. The blades i will use i will list, i want you guys to put together a good edc for me. I travel around places with my gf, at home chores and fixing random things. No farm work or trade type jobs. I have:

-Standard Buck 110 (2005)w. black leather sheath
-Vic Swisstool (2007) w. nylon? sheath like the old l.m. Supertool but w. button snap
-Buck X-tract (black) (2007) standard sheath
-Vic Centurion
-Kershaw Blur (jan 08)
-Benchmade Griptilian 551S (partial serr.) 154cm (2007)
-Timberline Kelly Worden Large Tactical
-Benchmade Benchmite II
-CRKT m16-03 (old version w.o autolawks) w. alum. scales

Help me choose! I haven't used a knife really except to cut types of string and the occassional box lol. I used to use heavily until i became a home body but i cant do it anymore and need to get back into the woods. ive been trying to convert the gf into a woodsy girl, it's working... slowly. I'll be able to get back out into the outdoors soon enough. I got her to handle a gun and love knives! I gave her my Buck lite and she always has a smile on her face when she uses it, the evil grin.

I would take a good look at either the Rat Cutlery Izula or the RC3. I very frequently carry one or other and they fit the bill just fine.

Well, the thing is i have no money so what i have is what i'm stuck with. If i had my choice id get an RC5 and a vic huntsman lite ruby.

I see your worried about sheeple. If thats the case, i would not carry a fixed blade around. Carry a small folder and a multitool if you like. I think you would find it not only more convenient but much more sheeple friendly. I go to university and always carry my folder. No problems at all.

I think ive narrowed it down to the kershaw, benchmade or buck 110 for a folder and the vic swisstool for a multi. Now which folder... I want to just choose one and stick with it

OK..

Real answer now :D

Looks like you have a fine batch of EDCs, just put them in your pocket. You will like them more the more they get beat up  "Users" always look better than safe queens ;)

I consider my grippy a lot (100$) since i dont make much money. Compared to ppl here its pocket change but i cant run out n replace. N to me some knives mean a lot coming from certain ppl so they rnt easily replaceable. i was jw what a popular edc for someone with those knives would be.

The BM griptilian has the best steel compared to the rest of your collection, so if you're gonna stick with one EDC the grip should be it. Unless you're in a hectic war zone, chances are you're gonna use it for years or decades before you lose it, IF you lose it. During these years, you get to enjoy the superior quality of the steel and really find out whether it's all that it's cracked up to be.

Besides, within a decade your economic situation should have improved to the point where $100 is pocket change.

Grip and Swisstool would be my choice regardless of price from your list. I feel that they represent the best versatility for EDC. Should you feel that the multitool is too cumbersome for what you are doing and the Centurion is too bulky an ALOX model SAK is fairly cheap, durable and compact; as an option for you when your financial situation improves. This is the choice I use now and find everything except pliers is included (my EDC is the Electrician with wood saw).

I'd carry the Buck and swisstool. Then rotate another in a different week. After the rotation sell any knife that isn't up to par. Then buy a new one. Rinse and Repeat.

I'd go with the Blur and the Swisstool depending on the configuration of the Blur.

+1
I carry a BM large Grip and a Swisstool Spirit. I feel they can handle any job I have to do (urban or rural).
If the Grip is not desired and you can stand the added heft, the Buck 110/ Swisstool combo would be great.

The kershaw was agift from my gf. Just a plain edge red blur with the newer steel. How strong is the 110s fine tip? I used to heavily carry a benchmade. How hard is it to put an edge on154cm witha sharpmaker after its been used a lot? How would the kershaw hold up?

I would carry the Buck 110 for a heavy Duty folder and the Vic Swiss tool for a small folding tool. If fact, I carry a Buck 110 and a small Vic knife for my own personal carry. Both are simple, durable tools that should not fail you if maintained properly.

Good luck with your decision, you have a good selection of items to choose from.

Both the Grip and the Blur would sharpen quite easily on the Sharpmaker. If you throw down a few bucks you could get a strop as well and you can get any of those knives to a hair poppin razor's edge.
