I was sure I was not going to buy another Benchmade. I had bought nothing but Benchmade over the past few years so I decided to get something other than a Benchmade. That was until I asked to hold the Fixed Contego. That was all she wrote. Now my folder has a big brother to keep him company. What a great knife and I could not be happier that I did buy another Benchmade.
frank.

Great side by side pic's. Seeing them together like that really gives it prospective.

Looks good!

The 810 Contego is probably my favorite currently in production, production knife. Seeing it side by side with the fixed blade version, now I want one of those! lol

I would own one too if they had made it in CPM-M4. That material seems to just make sense is a small fixed blade like the Contego.

I have the fixed on layaway right now and would already own a 810 if it was in s30v

Thanks for the great photo! The fixed Contego reminds me of the older Snody 220 in many ways. Both of these beautiful blades were, and are, badly in need of a better sheath. I'm glad to know there are makers of high quality Kydex and Concealex replacements out there. As to the knife itself, that's another Osborne jewel worth owning despite the factory wrapping.

I could not agree with you more. I really like the knife but the sheath is a real let down. I am looking for something more serviceable and equal to the quality and design the knife deserves.
Thanks for the post, Frank.
