So how do I fix my Pointguard?

Okay so I've got this problem. I managed to rip the pocket clip completely off my CRKT pointguard. In doing so I partially stripped the holes where the attachment screws go for the pocket clip. I found some more screws that were the appropriate size and put the clip back on, but now the pocket clip loosens up periodically. I am wondering if the fix might be as simple as putting some lock tite on the screws and then screwing them into place? Other ideas? Thoughts?

Maybe drill and tap for a larger diameter screw?

Duck Tape? :)

Lol, yeah I thought of the drill and tap also, I may end up going that route yet, was being lazy and hoping for a simpler solution... Like duct tape.. :)

I would try some loctite first. If that didn’t work, and you didn't feel like drilling and tapping, then you could try super glue or some other glue. If you went that route then the clip would be there permanently unless you violently ripped it off again.

Yeah, but that would be okay. It's not like I ever purposely took the clip off... :)

Send it to CRKT. See if they'll replace the liner and scale.

I thought about that too... but it seemed sort of like overkill for a 30 dollar knife? By the time I paid them and shipping I could just add another 15-20 dollars and get another one?

Triton I've done the same on a knife I used to have , I used super glue - problem fixed. Loctite would work also.

I think I will give it a try. Thanks for the encouragement in this somewhat lazy fix. :)

I would go with the JB Weld both in the screw holes and underneath the clip itself. That would pretty much make it a permanent repair. Be sure to degrease the screw holes and the underside of the clip and slightly roughen up and degrease where the clip would rest on the knife scale itself. You can use alcohol to degrease and make sure it is dry before gluing.
