Larry, I'm not positive on this but I think that the Rodgers star and cross trademark, ( I believe it has a more romantic name but I can't recall what it is:confused:) , was inherited with the I*XL trademark.

Eric

The best info I have is the Star and cross was used by Imperial Rodgers.

Joseph Rodgers bought George Wostenholm in 1971,and was Rodgers-Wostenholm. Then Schrade Cut Co. bought Rodgers-Wostenholm in '77.

Yup,Yup,and Yup all are right.Eric.. I would let you sit on Teachers knee but all this romantic talk makes me a little nervous mate!
"The Regimentals" series of 6 knives from 1979 after Schrade had bought Richards Holdings and Rodgers- Wostenholm in 1977.
Manufactured at the Sheffield , England factories with the famous Rodgers 'Star and Cross' *+ Tang <which had been famous since 1682>.
Brochures for USA showed Imperial Knife Company.Inc. Providence Rhode Island 02903. A Division of Imperial Knife Associated Companies,Inc.-In Canada Imperial International, Ontario and in Europe Imperial International Rheinland West Germany.
<According to Codgers research on previous posts the factories were sold by Imperial in 1982 to British Firm Western Knives who closed in 1983,then the late Jim Parker leased the I*XL trademark 1983/84 and The Eggington Group purchased the Rodgers and I*XL trademarks in 1986>
I love the I*XL series knives produced at the same time and believe they were equal to or better than Schrades best however I would not like my life to depend on the quality of 'The Regimental' Series which were never going to give Swiss Victorinox much competition!!

The bling with the knife shown which is The Scots Guards R90 states its a select series of precision campaign knives created by Joseph Rodgers and Sons Ltd. of Sheffield.Six hand crafted rugged models each named after the Regimental Guards that inspired them. "High Carbon,Stain Resistant cutlery steel blades, ground, polished, and hand honed to a fine, lasting cutting edge. Each knife in Regimental Red,superb quality handles exclusive to this series." The series comprises 1.The Scots Guards.R90. 2.The Life Guards R10. 3.The Welsh Guards R70. 4.The Irish Guards R40 5.The Coldstream Guards R30 and6.The Grenadier Guards R20.
All are varying pattern knives.

Soooo.there you go you have another 6 knives to collect under the Schrade umbrella.Does anyone have any they can show?? Hoo Roo
