So, how would you improve an already good knife?

I just got a Spyderco Lum Chinese Folder and I love it! I think I have found my new EDC. The handle ergos, the blade shape, the grind, the steel, the weight, all perfect.

However, I think it would be even better with 2 modifications:

1. Needs jimping for your thumb, right above the hole, extending back onto the handle as well.

2. I wish the blade was maybe 10% smaller. (though this is more of a personal preference.)

We all know how we would improve bad or mediocre knives, but my question for the thread is:

Take a good, quality, well designed and well made knife that you love and carry regularly, and tell us, how would you make it even better?

The point of the UKPK, as well as many "slip joints", should be above the centerline, i.e. in stabbing moves, the point should cause the blade to bias in the open direction.

I improved my Byrd Cara Cara by regrinding the low hollow saber grind into a scandi grind with a microbevel.

I leave the design to the knifemakers.

I'm pretty good at sharpening so that may be my contribution to my knives, but I generally "improve" knives by using them.
